March 29, 201214 yr Author Well, since you asked, I'm using REX2 and ORBX Australia. Over in the ORBX support forum, the devs explained that they had to use an "approximation" for the reef, so the textures aren't always the best. Here are a couple of examples:
March 29, 201214 yr So the top pic, is the lighter blue/green water suppose to be reef? Cloud shadows?Bottom pic looks pretty bad. No taper at all of the water/reef color. Unless they are suppose to be toxic waste spills or something, heh.
March 30, 201214 yr Author Yes, in the top pic, I think that lighter water is supposed to be reef. It doesn't look quite right, regardless of what it's supposed to be. In the bottom, yeah, no taper at all. It looks like the giant space amoeba from a certain old "Star Trek" episode. It does look a little better from far away, but never quite right. Kinda puzzled why they didn't just go with photorealistic textures for the Great Barrier Reef.
March 30, 201214 yr You can't go wrong with the bundle IMHO - it's a lot of country for just a handful of beans...Add in NZSI and the hopefully upcoming NZNI and you can, as I will, spend 99% of your time flying GA around the beautiful NZ and then taking heavier hops between the two countries and across the Australian continent in your NGX of choice! That said, fltsimguy ain't wrong about the PNW either - as he says, it has a ludicrous number of air strips and larger air ports for you to explore and the eye candy is pretty damn good. That said, as a pom in Auckland I am biased towards the Oceania stuff until such time as ORBX release UK scenery!Mega Dittos on bundle, and the UK yeah! Only wish they would get on w/ California which I thought I heard was up there on the priority list but then haven't seen any further evidence.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
