March 28, 201214 yr Well... I have a few theories :- The famous "Foxous Newsis overdosis" symptoms- Reacted badly to the fact that Herman Cain still killing animal on is campaign's ads- Learned that PMDG will only release the 200LR on their 777 base package
March 28, 201214 yr I see this as a medical issue so won't comment. I will give it time and space and give this guy some privacy. Their will be an investigation and media will be all over it.Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

Their will be an investigation and media will be all over it.CheersSame here, but props to the copilot, who had the fore thought to change the code to the cockpit door, once the pilot was outside, to avoid a possibly more dangerous situation. If the pilot in his current state was to some how regain access to the cockpit, who knows what would have happened!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

After all, irrespective of the fact that today a lot of flight systems in modern aircraft are automated, at the end of the day there is a human element in it, and as we all know too well, us human beings are not infallible. March 28, 201214 yr That kind of thing could be caused by anything from a kidney infection to a stroke, and evidently the problem occurred in the flight since it seems unlikely they could have done the before take off briefing and got in the air with the Captain in anything other than a fit state. The Captain's flying career could be over, possibly not, but either way, I hope he recovers okay.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 28, 201214 yr I feel bad for the guy, I also belive it to be a medical issue (seeing from the videos(other than the ones provided)) I hate how the media just jumpson everything and just blows out a story about it. -Sean L PPL + IFR, SEL HP/Complex.. LAS WN Ground Ops
March 29, 201214 yr I would not be so sure about this medical condition just yet. What if they don't find any stroke, heart or anything else of that nature? Then they will be left with trying to explain whatever transpired in his mind and this notorious for being very hard to pin down unless they find obvious symptoms of schizofrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.In the meantime formal federal charges have been filed against the pilot. I am just glad no one was injured (except a bruised Flight Attendant). Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 29, 201214 yr This doesn't look like Panic Attack or other Anxiety Disorder symptoms (since he was a bit aggressive), a bit like a stress disorder, but whatever that is, I have my sympathy for this experienced pilot, however, mentioning those b***s, Af*******n and Al **** is surely NOT a good thing we would like to hear when airborne... I would ask a cabin crew to shut him up or I would do it myself, as a pax, I have every reason to do that
April 3, 201214 yr Prosecutors want him held without bond. So right now it certainly doesn't it look like a case when medical condition could be an extenuating circumstance. http://www.npr.org/t...oryId=149850095 Michael J.
April 3, 201214 yr The USA has a process as they don't have Mens Rea defence (latin for guilty mind) anymore. The USA breaks it down to: Purposefully: the actor has the "conscious object" of engaging in conduct and believes or hopes that the attendant circumstances exist. Knowingly: the actor is practically certain that his conduct will lead to the result. Recklessly: the actor is aware that the attendant circumstances exist, but nevertheless engages in the conduct that a "law-abiding person" would have refrained from. Negligently: the actor is unaware of the attendant circumstances and the consequences of his conduct, but a "reasonable person" would have been aware. Strict liability: the actor engaged in conduct and his mental state is irrelevant. What happened on that flight will be determined in a Texas Court. None of us were there so it would be difficult to speculate if he was aware of what he was doing or not. Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
