New Out-of-the-box PC for FSX

Featured Replies

Hey everybody, After many months of trying to figure out on my own what kind of computer I should get for FSX (as my current one is starting to really showing its age occasionally now), I realized that a computer scrub such as myself should probably just go for an out-of-the-box system and not build my own. I know that building one is better as it is cheaper but I am wondering if you guys could make some suggestions on what the best out-of-the-box computer is on the market for FSX. I know that the ideal processor, according to many, is the Sandy bridge (either 2500K or 2600K)... and that's about all I know...Any suggestions for places to start or systems to buy? Obviously I want to spend as little as possible while still getting stellar results, but the more options the better. Thanks a lot

Best regards, happy flying,

Wallace

Don't get an out of the box computer like Acer, HP or Dell. Most of the time, it costs twice the price for what you get when you would build that pc yourselves. And, those out of the box pc manufacturers always lock their BIOS from overclocking. And when a Sandy Bridge is not overclocked, it will not perform that great in FSX.Go to a computer shop, and ask if they want to build a pc for you, that's the best suggestion I have.I've had an out of the box pc twice, and I always regretted it.

If I can build one.... you can.I'm the most mechanically-retarded person on the planet, and I've managed to build a few systems. Here's some excellent tutorial vids:

Hey check this one I have for sale in my local craiglist http://miami.craigsl...2906035295.html Build it yourself, you will save $$$$. Check my components put it together and you will have a great computer to run FSX, and even for less, that's the sale price. Takes some time to find the parts for the best price though.

Thanks for all of the replies. I will look more into building one again after hearing that or any other ways to do it.
