April 10, 201214 yr Good grief, guys! All this talk about modding the panel to fit the RXP GNS 430 and NOT ONE WORD about how she flies? Hiya Bob ---- Well I have to jump in here and say that I really like the plane. I have about 3 hours of yoke time on mine, and just loving it. Carenado deserves kudos for a fine model right out of the box. I have had no major issues at all. Flies great and "feels" like the plane that it is. A few little minor things, but those will get picked up with time. Again thanks to Carenado for a nice addition to the hangar. I would recommend the plane to any turbo-buff. Cheers --- Bob --- :Big Grin: :Big Grin: :Big Grin: Bob Magill
April 10, 201214 yr Well, to each their own. However, FWIW you are swapping apples with oranges. I'm an avionics tech and between my buddy and I (who does installs on King Airs), we've never seen a King Air with 530's or 430's. The Collins (and earlier, King) control heads were always so reliable and straight forward that the only mods we've seen are exactly what Carenado has put in their machine - the GNS400 (which is a GPS only) and Avidyne system. Of late some of the B200's are being converted to GNS1000 systems, but we've not seen any King Airs earlier than that with that setup. I suppose if the realism factor doesn't bother you, you can swap them, but I'm pretty sure that because it's not a realistic conversion, this would be why Carenado didn't include the RXP integration in this package. You can either have a pointless non-funtional 400, which is totally unrealistic, or a fully functional (for the most part) 430. Which would you prefer? I can easily ignore the COM/NAV 1 display on the 430, which is really the only difference worth mentioning between the two units. There are lots of C90's with G1000 conversions btw. It's an extremely popular mod these days. There are probably at least 3 or 4 for sale right now on Controller.com, if you want one. ;) Scott
April 10, 201214 yr HI all, With all the talk here about RXP integration, I decided to give it a shot. I was able to replace the 400 with the RXP 430 (I know, apples and oranges...) much in the same manner as in the A36. With a bit of adjusting the alignment, it seems to play nicely. Being that the actual 3D gauge is a 400, you're not going to get the left knob and radio controls, however if you hover your mouse over where they ought to be you can get to those functions. As for it driving the Avidyne and EFIS, it behaves the same as the Aspen display in the A36 (i.e. the CDI will display and the autopilot will fly the RXP course and you'll get an accurate distance counter, but nothing else registers). Hope this answers a few questions -Ryan

April 11, 201214 yr Do you have the newest release of the RXP GNS? You can get a download link from Bert. Huh what update? I ran my updater and it says I have the current version 1.4.9.9 is there a newer update?
April 11, 201214 yr Read this thread - http://www.simforums.com/forums/new-gns430-530-release-on-its-way_topic41597.html Scott
April 11, 201214 yr Mmmm.. kinda dissapointed that they haven't added RXP integration. I thought after all the recent aircraft having the option to do so, and the King Air having many requests to have the feature they would have done it. :Hypnotized: Regards,James White Aerosoft (Airbus X Extended/Twin Otter Extended/PFPX) & Majestic Q400 Beta Team
April 11, 201214 yr It works quite nicely, when adding it by hand! I can understand the Carenado rationale - as the real plane has a GPS400, not a 430. And, RXP does not offer a GPS400. Bert
April 11, 201214 yr RXP..blahblahblah blurrg urrg if thats what you're into I guess............how is the actual AIRCRAFT? :LMAO:
