April 10, 201214 yr ...they dropped the price to $39.95! Get it here: http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php Edmundo Azevedo
April 10, 201214 yr I guess that one could edit at least the screen of a RXP unit into that VC. The rest then comes via popup. But I'd like to see some 3D works, so that the VC integration is complete. Maybe it already works with that model. The frequencies are on separate gauges.
April 10, 201214 yr Currently downloading it, the D/L link is a bit shaky LOL Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 10, 201214 yr Just a question re the RXP thingie - does RXP actually make a GNS400? I thought they only did the 530 and 430.
April 10, 201214 yr Just a question re the RXP thingie - does RXP actually make a GNS400? I thought they only did the 530 and 430. Nope, just the 30's but it would be fine if we can swap that 400 with the 430. The RXP unit is a much more "robust" tool. Mauricio Brentano
April 10, 201214 yr Well, to each their own. However, FWIW you are swapping apples with oranges. I'm an avionics tech and between my buddy and I (who does installs on King Airs), we've never seen a King Air with 530's or 430's. The Collins (and earlier, King) control heads were always so reliable and straight forward that the only mods we've seen are exactly what Carenado has put in their machine - the GNS400 (which is a GPS only) and Avidyne system. Of late some of the B200's are being converted to GNS1000 systems, but we've not seen any King Airs earlier than that with that setup. I suppose if the realism factor doesn't bother you, you can swap them, but I'm pretty sure that because it's not a realistic conversion, this would be why Carenado didn't include the RXP integration in this package.
April 10, 201214 yr I know it's not a realistic conversion, I don't mind with it. The Carenado 400 probably it's not a realistic GPS unit, so... What I prefer? A realistic King Air, with a realistic GPS unit. The extra NAV/COM are a bonus. :LMAO: Mauricio Brentano
April 10, 201214 yr The Carenado 400 probably it's not a realistic GPS unit Yeah, if the status quo is maintained, I'm afraid you're right on that. They did say that "new sytems" were being modeled in this airplane so maybe this is one of them? We can only hope, and if it is 90% or so functional and the Avidyne is reasonable, it might work out ok. Fingers crossed :).
April 10, 201214 yr Mauricio, do you already run her with the RXP unit? Same as you, I'd like to have the RXP detail in that plane, not the slightly enhanced default GPS gauge coming with it. But I like the idea of running that Avidyne gauge. I'm just wondering if the VC knobs (the right ones) work and if the RXP is able to drive the AP and things.

I don't have it yet, but if we can at least swap the "display" on the gauge and use the 430 as a pop-up driving the AP, would be fine for me. Mauricio Brentano

With the new RXP feature of streaming the RXP plan to the FSX based gauges, it may also give you a flight plan display on the Avidyne. Just guessing though, I still need some more info on the new plane before I buy.
April 10, 201214 yr Good grief, guys! All this talk about modding the panel to fit the RXP GNS 430 and NOT ONE WORD about how she flies? April 10, 201214 yr I hear you, Kurt. I guess the flight model is great. Bernt was on it. First impressions in that other thread look good. http://forum.avsim.n...d/#entry2333125 http://forum.avsim.n...25#entry2333234 Just to explain my interest in that side topic, the changing of gauges.
