April 15, 200422 yr I'm flying into KBOI tonight and BAM!!! FS9 quits!!Autosave to the rescue!!! BAM!!! Quits again!!!After repeated attempts and moving further back in my flight....same thing. So, I try to start FS9 on the ground in KBOI. Quits!!!Found a black hole.No add-ons (some airports 100's of miles away though.Remove the Western Northern America scenery. S/D FS9. start-up. Add it back in. S/D. Start-up. I'm thinking that maybe the scenery index is messed up.Go to KBOI. WHAMMO everything's a-ok. Restart my flight.BAM!!! Quits!!!What a sec. When I started in KBOI the last time it was dark. When I was flying it was still light. Restart FS9 and restore the flight, pause, and change the time so it's dark. Land without any issues!!! I'm at the gate in KBOI. Change the time to just before dawn (still dark). Loads, no problem. Add an a hour so dawn is just beginning to break...BAM!!! Quits again!!!Does ANYBODY have any ideas?!?!?!LOL....freaky. If there was an easy way to replace these files I would....any suggestions??? Can't get within 10 miles of KBOI during the day, but no problems at night!!!Any help appreciated!!!
April 15, 200422 yr Do you have the free version of FS Genesis landclass installed? There was a known problem around Boise that was fixed in the pay version.Good luck,Ken
April 15, 200422 yr Sounds like it could also be the dreaded seasonal Crash to Desktop bug. If you do a search on that term here you'll find all sorts of info on it. I have had crashes at BOI myself altering my terrain.cfg file. Search for MaskClassMap and I'm sure you'll find the fix, although it's been so long now I don't remember exactly what I did. Hope that helps.
