Anyone figured out how to set a viewpoint to look out from the P-51?

Yes, rename the zipfile to TXT and I will rename it back to zip after download.

Thanks Ray, see my previous post. ^^

Any chance someone would zip up the three saved files for the P-51 view and post them here for downloads? I will give you special recognition in the Avsim review for the add-on that I am currently writing. Should be out next week.

No recognition needed, thanks.

Excellent. Thanks Ramon for the superquick response. I am loaded and ready to fly - I can see my hand on the stick. Yea.

Ramon and Don, thanks so much. This a a big improvement. I have the NEXT VIEW set to one of my yoke switches so it is easy to cycle thru the views to check the gear and flap status. I'm off for some very low level zooming on Oahu. The elevated highway with the tunnel is a great flight from about 100 feet.

Not sure I was that much help, but you are most welcome, this is the only way I fly the P51 and I do find it kinda fun.

Enjoy!

Well thanks Guys - that certainly worked - although I did need to hold the ctrl_Q keys down with the cat while I made a cup of coffee :Big Grin:

Also repeated the exercise for that dreaded Zero that no-one has. Works fine for that as well.

I have to say that simple thing changes the experience of flying those planes significantly for the better in my case.

Thanks guys, this is much better. Takes a while to get it all setup but it's worth it. Checkout the Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri.

Now that I look closer they sure appear to be working. Can't tell for sure from the screenshot, but I will keep an eye on them and see if i see changes as I fly. Someone above mentioned this was just a static view of the panel when the eyepoint is moved back.

Microsoft Flight has cut so many corners it's just kicking itself in the nuts. It makes it run faster, but it means that, for example, the P-51 is too thin for a cockpit view. Oh how silly, but it's true for now.

Well, some of the gauges may be working. Not real easy to tell. The altimeter is spot on at 1800 feet or so and the Artifical Horizon shows a climbing right turn which is different from the other screenshot in both cases. I can't read the other gauges very well.

I just re-downloaded the P-51and when I load it up the instrument panel does not look as clear as your screen shot. I have my graphics settings to ultimate. My Artificial Horizon did not move.

Raymar made some changes to his photo before posting it, the gauges in the plane don't really work. In Flight, the player's hand is on the throttle to the left, so you can see that he's edited in the panel from another sim.

Edit: wait, now I don't know. Someone else posted a pic with no hand there, so I'm mis-remembering. Still think the photo's been messed with though or something though, I'd have noticed working gauges.

None of the gauges in the P-51 Mustang work in MS Flight. Everything is static, including the good looking female pilot. She has a name and is a real person, I think. it is just the shell of an airplane. The gear and flaps work. The screenshots are the interior of the Cloud Racer from FSX.

I think what we've learned here is "don't listen to Ray".
