Me and my...

... Mustang!

I am no fan of combat airplanes. At all. The last time I salivated over one, I was 15 years old. :LMAO:

It was the F-15E, the trainer, my two-seat fantasy so that I could take my date along, who at the time was Brigitte Bardot! Just%20Kidding.gif

Otherwise, the only combat planes I like are from the Great War, that is WWI for all you youngster who were not yet born. (Although Tom and I were already kicking back then...Just%20Kidding.gif ) Give me a SPAD or a Nieuport anytime, although I'll also take a Jenny or a Pup.

But, MGS gave me the Mustang, it is rude to refuse a gift, so what the heck... I am flying it.

Yes, I know what you are thinking... Yet another 15-year old gamer. :LMAO: But, you know what? Who cares what you think? :Loser:

You pretend you are a Clipper Captain, and I'll pretend I'm having fun!

So, here are some shots of my very own personal Mustang. First, in its hangar - I won't say where it is, because Frank is liable to fly through it... inverted! im%20Not%20Worthy.gif

Up in the air, flying it from outside!

The great advantage of not having a cockpit (yes, we may as well try to find positive things about what we can't change, because what's the point of griping?) is that I can take shots from strange angles, like this dramatic picture:

There's an idea for a Mustang challenge... fly it backwards all the way down to the airport and land it that way. :yahoo:

But, not for you, Frank. Your challenge is to fly it inverted through a hangar, but backwards. Just%20Kidding.gif

Best regards.

Luis

Sorry, but this has better clouds, and it seems more dramatic to me Big%20Grin.gif :

Luis that is some nice looking hangar, probably I know where it is!

I’m embarrassed to show mine.

Hm. Terrain and autogen color is closer to what you see in arial videos than Flight. Terrain mesh is a bit off. Their waterfall is awful, at least Flight got that right on. Resolution seems low, overall colors a bit garish. There doesn't appear to be a cockpit view... but then, there's no cockpit. Is there at least an option for first person view?

That pilot mesh is pretty bad. And gameplay... the only thing worse than a side scroller is a side scroller converted to play in 3D... you know, like Rise of the Triad.

Well, it's colorful. Is it fun to play? Are there any features that would make me want it?

So you're not having fun, just pretending to have fun?

Just kidding. Enjoy your new toy!

Right.

And, seeing the recent trends in discussing strong simulation features in this forum (high-fidelity mouse control, advantage of cockpitless planes), could we propose to open a new Pilot Wings section? There we could discuss at ease about the extreme joy of using directly raised arms instead than old FFB joysticks, and surely that would bring a lot of new young blood to this seemingly stagnant and repetitive hobby Big%20Grin.gif .

Hmmmmmmmm..............

Is this going to become an unpleasant place to visit?

I am looking at some threads lately and I can already feel myself stepping back.

I cant even imagine what I would think as a total noob, looking for help with my new toy and running into......

Whatever the heck is happening now.

I don't know Devin, I was quite frankly about to type how I was just speechless, but now that dang dissappearing ink seems to have come back into play.

In this case, probably thankfully - but I did save a copy as a reminder..

Careful guys

I like it here. I don't want to have to find a new forum home.
