April 25, 201214 yr I know in Active Sky's program you can simply turn them off and you won't see them anymore. There's a slider for Cirrus cloud occurance. But if you turn them off, then you won't be seeing cirrus at all, right?
April 25, 201214 yr Moderator For FS2004. (Avsim Lib) Why do people give an addon a plug, but no information of where to find it. Waste of time posting to be honest. The only Pablo files I found @ avsim was for FS9. Here you go Julian, its' the first two files from the top down for FSX. , http://simviation.co...=1&keywords=hde+ or for the Sky http://simviation.co...ip&fileId=34817 and for the clouds http://simviation.co...zip&fileId=6727 . Just make sure you dont use the sky from the third link since it wont work in FSX. The second link has the sky textures remastered to work in FSX. I must admit, I own REX and FEX, and the sky colors from this package are second to none in my opion as far as a realistic look goes. However the clouds are better than all the cloud sets I tried in REX but I still prefer my cumulous cloud set from FEX but my cirrus set from REX and the sky from Pablo. Kind of ashame that I spent the money on REX only to use the cirrus clouds and a few other textures. I never would have known about the HDEv2 sky if it weren't for Ed (edetroit) videos and FS9 screen shots. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
April 25, 201214 yr Thanks Sean.Appreciate the links. I did a google, but somehow missed the ones you posted. Look forward to trying these. The screen shots of the FS9 ones on Avsim looked really impressive. April 25, 201214 yr there is a possibility to turn off cirrus cloud layers within FSUIPC and ASE. But I want to have cirrus layers, they look good and realistic at lower altitudes. I would like to get rid of them at very high altitudes...
April 25, 201214 yr I would like to get rid of them at very high altitudes... That's exactly what I've been saying before.
April 25, 201214 yr HDEv2 does not solve this problem. This problem is existing since FS9 as far as I can remember, even before... Shot with Pablo's textures. Looks great, but the thin cirrus layer is still here.

I agree, no texture set will fix the problem as suggested by vololiberista. It's been like this as far back as I can remember, I even fired up FS9 the other day at it was exactly the same. It's easy to get used to after a while though. After all these years of it, I dont even really notice it that much. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

It's a perfectly normal and frequent visitor to our skies and if your weather engine is worth its salt it should and must depict it when the conditions are suitable. Try flying a real aeroplane."Oh, sorry ladies and gentlemen, the flight is cancelled because the pilot can see a few cirrus clouds." The pax would have his guts for garters! This reminds me of a play by Shakespeare!!! vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
