PMDG 777 Information

Recommended Posts

So, just out or interest, regarding the 777 Delivery schedule ;-), and in Pilot parlence, is the 777 on the glide slope at:

1) The outer marker

2) The middle marker or

3) The inner marker.

On visual approach, slightly low and 30 knots too slow! Just kidding :) Hopefully they have just left the holding pattern and are configuring for final approach.

I'm pretty sure that since they are still internally testing - it's probably more like Top of Descent or a little before.

I doubt it will be out for a couple more months.

What is the difference between the new vnav and the old vnav? I hate Rob mention in one of the videos that the NGX used the "new vnav" and the 777 will use the "old vnav". Google didn't turn anything up.

Another question after watching some screenshots:

Does it have an ADF? Will I be able to perform NDB-Approaches?

[Edit]: Nevermind, seems to be customizable as on some screenshots there are ADF's.

Strange, as I always thought that ADF's are a must have IFR equipment.

Nope, it isn't a must have.

Although it is a requirement to monitor raw data when doing an NDB approach on LNAV/VNAV. If you're aircraft doesn't have an ADF, you are unable to shoot an NDB approach, even if it is in the FMC's navigation database.
