Configuration Panel

Recommended Posts

I have two questions.

Number one - The exact meaning of EXT/AC and EXT/AS?

Is it?

EXT/AC = (External Electrical Power Cart/Air Conditioning Cart)?

EXT/AS = (External Electrical Power Cart/Air Start Cart)?

Number two - I was under the impression that you could set the PWR SRC, on the CFG Panel to one of the below three choices prior to arriving at the gate sometime during the last phase of flight or when taxiing into the gate?

APU

EXT/AC

EXT/AS

What I have discovered, at least on my last flight, is that the CFG Panel, PWR SRC selection, cannot be changed during the above time frame? I can set it at the beginning of a cold and dark flight, but not near the end?

Hi Bill,

EXT/AC = (External Electrical Power Cart/Air Conditioning Cart)

EXT/AS = (External Electrical Power Cart/Air Start Cart)

APU/EXT=(External Electrical Power Cart/Auxiliary Power Unit)

Your selection must be made before landing,

Your selection must be made before landing,

That's correct, or at least before the FO starts his After Landing flow.

The FO needs to know the setting beforehand so he knows whether to turn the APU on or not during his after landing flow.

Unfortunately, when I clicked on the PWR/SRV button, it wouldn't let me select anything other than the APU, it kept reverting back to the APU setting?

Yes Sir!

I did select the up/down arrows of the PWR/AIR SRC and you could see the display roll to another setting and then back to APU very quickly.

I attempted to set the PWR/AIR SRC setting throughout the flight envelope. For example:

* After TOD

* Below 18,000 ft

* Below 10,000 ft

* After landing

* Taxiing to gate

* At the gate

I got the same results at each phase of flight.

byork,

Humm.....I responded yesterday, but my response never took?

So what I will do is see if I can reproduce, and if I consistently can, then I will have you take a look via the remote desktop.

I have 3 PC's, 1 laptop, and two printers on my local network.....so I will probably need to provide my local IP address I assume?

byork,

Thanks I got your PM today.....if I have time today, I'll see if I can reproduce this issue again, and if I can, then I will install your teamviewer tool.

Try setting the arrival power source during your descent briefing - PRIOR to the top of descent (TOD). This has never failed me and a number of the 3rd party flows all recommend it be done at this time. Let us know...
