Hi guys, i was getting so many requests and questions about the 2 737' products that i was forced to make a movie.

PMDG wins it easy, but the biggest difference between the 2 models are the engines/shape. PMDG is very round and the iFly is ( how do you say it in English.. )

 

Wich one is the correct one ? When i google around for real 736, this is the real shape, not to round.. is that a mistake from PMDG or just another ( rounder ) engine/type?

 

 

 

I see what you're saying. The lines on the PMDG are smoother like they should be, whereas the iFly lines are more squared off and angled.

Nice comparison between our NGX and the other...

 

Our NGX was built in accordance to the engineering specs that Boeing provided us with. I have spent a good chunk of time on the engines that they match what was provided on the drawings (they are detailed drawings - not the kind that the general public sees). Compared with the classics, the NG nacelles are much more rounder at the intake but just slightly flat at the bottom of the intake lip, it's really slight.

 

However the cowling itself is slightly ovoid at the bottom with bulges on both sides to accommodate the gear boxes that usually are at the bottom on other jet engines.

 

So what your seeing on our NGX is what it is like in real life. Keep in mind viewing angles in images do change greatly, try this. Look at the front of the engine with the view angle flat to the ground, you will notice its slightly curved at the bottom, now move the camera up slowly, you will notice the shape changes slightly it starts to become a bit flatter before it changes to a curved look as the camera moves up.

 

Anyway, long response short... 'tis the way it's supposed to be ;-)

I think the PMDG looks a lot better ,they have much better textures and the detail is far better. When it comes to the cockpit , the graphics on the ifly look very dated and are not convincing in my opinion. When you are in the NGX cockpit you feel you are actually there due to the better modeling more vivid colors, animations and better sounds. From videos I have seen of the ifly 737, I can confidently say that you don't get the real life experience associated with the NGX.
