May 5, 201214 yr Don't tell her! :LMAO: Easier said than done. She's a finance boss around here, doing all in excel and $hit. Pretty happy about it actually, gives me more time to bother you guys :LMAO: Besides, she agreed to the Yamakasi Catleap, a 330€ 27inch 2560x1440 IPS monitor Can't wait!
May 5, 201214 yr Author A "Yamakasi Catleap"?? Who in Marketing was drunk on Sake and found that name?! Or was it the Geisha..?! Anyways, looks good, I now have severe "upgrade itch" all over my used body, arrrghh..! Or maybe it´s "shiny new toy" syndrome.. :LMAO: Oh, BTW Word Not Allowed: My wife´s favourite movie is "The Stepford Wives" - I´m a lucky son of a... etc.
May 5, 201214 yr Author Going from a 2600K to a 2700K is not really an upgrade I think, but more like a retuning for lower vcore and less heat, at least in my case. There really is no practical advantage from a flying perspective, I suppose, but who cares, right? Kind regards, Yep, that´s right, who cares, but we will have a great CPU for the next 2-3 years (my guess...) So I´ll have the canoe repaired, get some provisions, paddle off my island, and find a shop where I can buy one of these gems before it´s too late!
May 5, 201214 yr :LMAO: :LMAO: LOL, I don't know. But now there is a discussion about the 120Hz version, which should be named either Extreme or Transformer :LMAO: :LMAO: Yamakasi Catleap Transformer. Man, that sound so nerdy, reminds me of my youth where we played with Transformers in the school back yard. LOL. Gonna post some pics when it arrives. 27inch-godness with 2560 pixels... arrrg...
May 5, 201214 yr Oh jeez... The FPS are going to hurt For sure. But I decided my world is not turning around FSX.
May 5, 201214 yr For sure. But I decided my world is not turning around FSX. Nor does mine. I just don't have the money for a 27 inch display! haha
May 6, 201214 yr As an experiment ran FSX last evening at 5.2 Ghz at 1.48 vcore for a few minutes then dropped back down again. No problems at all with temperatures only around 70c. All settings except the multiplier and v-core were the same as what I use for standard 4.8 Ghz operations. These things are like greased lightening! Kind regards, Seems the 2700K is a rebranded 2500K, huh? <vbg> ROG Maximus X Apex Z370 -- 8086 @ 5.3 / NB 5.0 -- GSkill @ 4133 c17-17-32~Cr1 1.42v -- EVGA 1080Ti 6393 -- ROG PG279Q 1440P 150hz -- Corsair H100i V2 --Samsung EVO 850(s) -- Windows7 Pro 64 --Corsair 750X Ken C

May 7, 201214 yr Indeed it was (is). -The CPUID screenee was captured early last year ....I don't play with the cpu anymore ....Although, James seems to be onto something with that 2666 mhz memory. May 9, 201214 yr What motherboard do you guys recommend for best potential overclocking a 2700 and also how important is the model and brand of the memory? I'd recommend a P8Z77-V. For memory, I'd recommend a 2x4GB DDR3 2133 CL9 kit.
