I'd recommend a P8Z77-V.

For memory, I'd recommend a 2x4GB DDR3 2133 CL9 kit.

Ok but wouldn't it be good enough with a Z68-based motherboard when I don't have any plans going to Ivy Bridge?

Z77 boards are compatible with Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge.

Are there any pros with a Z77 board other than it is also compatible with Ivy Bridge CPUs?

I read someone else saying Z68 boards are the way to go if you will only use the boards for Sandy Bridge CPUs since these boards are much more mature.

The Z68 boards are slowly getting ruled out as the Z77 boards are hitting the markets. I don't see why you shouldn't get a Z77 board considering it is the latest and greatest. But, it would be safe to get a Z68 board if you are unsure about the stability of the new boards.

Ben, on one thread you recommend Z68, on another Z77...

The reason I recommended the Z77 is due to the inventory of Z68 boards being scarce.

I already visited the wiki site. And read a bit. Though not being from UK, it's safe to say I won't have an idea what you're talking about...

I bought a Asus Z68 microatx board; why? The new Z77 boards don't offer intel SRT in the micro form. Why are they going backwards with technology??

Now I'm just patiently waiting for my 2500k and my PFC Beech Yoke to come :)
