PMDG 737NG - worth buying it? Is it like PSS Airbusses?

Featured Replies

HI, I have a couple of questions on PMDG's 737 product.1) What is the product like? Is it like a PSS product, i.e. superb visual models, panel included, many panel functions, working FMS?2) I have read some posts where people want to upload SID/STAR data - does that mean that the database for the 737 navigation is not complete?3) Do I require a joystick to fly them?4) Are they difficult to fly, or about as easy as the PSS planes? If they are the "PSS of 737" then I definitely want them!

1) All of the above2) It's mostly there, no complaints from me as far as included sid's/stars, just make sure you get your AIRAC updated to 404.3) I beleive so, not sure, never tried without.4) Their flight model is really really good. They hand fly like a dream and all the automation you could ever want is there as well.If you like PSS products, You'll like this as well.Jay Eklund - Pilot 4332Senior VP Denver Operationshttp://www.pacificwestairways.com

OK, great. Thanks for that hint, I'll get it right now, just wanted to avoid bad surprises (e.g. on the nav data).Cheers

check the PMDG support forum right here at Avsim for more posts about this aircraft.

It by far surpasses any PSS effort by a long stretch. The PMDG 737 is THE BEST airliner add-on for FS BAR NONE.Dan.

The biggest difference in FS2004 between the PMDG 737 and most of the PSS aircraft is that the 737 works.

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

do not pay any attention to the previous posts suggesting that PSS products are no good and do not work. It is probably that they are not capable of flying good aircraft. The PMDG 737 range is very good but it has bugs which have never been put right Both PSS and PMDG are good buys.

The PMDG Series surpasses all airliner add-ons in existence.Nuff said.

The PMDG 737 range is very good but it has bugs which have never been put right John is it? Please if you are going to make blanket statements please state EXACTLY what *bugs* that have noever been "put right" by PMDG. PMDG have fixed-udated more things during the last six months then any other developer I have seen, now this I fact..[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. I never said "it was no good", but I stand by my statement. The PMDG 737 surpasses the PSS products IN EVERY RESPECT, that is not to say the PSS products are bad, they just do not compare to the 737.Dan.

johns,You must be reading a different thread than this one? I didn't see where anyone said the PSS products are "no good"? I own ALL of them and they are very good. They do not however, IMHO, reach the same level as the PMDG737NG. As far as bugs, what are you talking about? The support that PMDG provides, by the developers, beta testers and fellow users is absolutely the best in the industry.

Can anyone see a worrying trend in this thread..............?The signiture images LOL :-lol :-lol, looks like some sort of cult!!!! :-lol :-lolLOL :-lolDan.

When I fly for my Virtual Airline(s)I fly the NG 800/900 in place of the Airbus or 757/767 for that matter. The 800/900 is pretty close specs wise to the Airbus anyway. You will not be dissappointed in the PMDG 737NG. It's all you'll want to fly anymore when your not in the GA...Tom

Best airliner out for fs2004 (and 2002). Easily replaced the pic 767 for me. I believe PSS favors eye candy more than realism, pmdg does both realism and eyecandy. :-) I have the pss A320 and although it is great it's just not realistic enough for me anymore.Andrew
