Hope so, I was about to give them £80 and they can't afford a few DVD's?

http://www.flightstore.co.uk/simulation-c8/vfr-photographic-scenery-generation-x-volume-1-southern-england-and-south-wales-for-fsx-p2760

Looks like maybe they're rebranding or something and everything will go through flightstore? I notice that Treescapes is on there as a Playsims branded product, even though it's ESI and that VFR airfields and UK2000 Xtreme airports are the same as well.

Well if UK VFR by UK2000 is photoscenery then yes it will, but if it's airfields then no. Horizon comes with a more detailed mesh than FSGenesis I think, so I'd uninstall the relevant meshes depending on which Horizon volume(s) you buy.

Brilliant video,Al. What chopper was that you were using?

Thank you. It was the Nemeth MD 500 Defender, which is pretty easy to fly and good fun to whizz around in when exploring things like that.

Chopper: http://secure.simmar...-defender.phtml

Other stuff in use on that vid included Earth Simulations' Treescapes and the Pro Mesh UK mesh.

Hi,

I'm in the process of building FSX in preparation for the PMDG 777, just had a look at the VFR scenery and it say's sold out, what is that about?

http://www.playhoriz...8&products_id=2

That's a very old product.

It's basically textures based on photographs taken at 5000 feet above ground.

It looks good at that altitude. As soon as you go down to 2000 it's not that impressive. You should also disable auto-gen when using it, because lots of 3D objects will look out of place.

The reason it says "sold out" is just because they aren't making them anymore.

You will very likely find it on e-bay though.

Get nl2000 (http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/), photoreal and some autogen that covers the whole of the Netherlands. Very good quality! Oh, and it is FREEWARE. You can also download most of the airports in the Netherlands.

Hi,

It's kind of you to talk about WWW, but don't forget also I've reworked default FSX textures because WWW don't cover cities textures.

When going at that site I get the impression that this cover the whole world. I already have GEX USA and UT USA. Can I choose to install only part of the world?

Am I correct in thinking that the equivalent GEX would be the 30 and 50 cm forest+rock+interzone projects?

If you go down the UTX route, then you should complement it with GEX EU, which will give you much (much) better textures and scenery which looks great even flying low and slow. You should also instal a good mesh product (I use FSGenesis) and also consider landclass products like XClass or Scenerytech).

I consider both UTX and GEX too expensive. Is it a bad idea to consider only one of them? Are there any pics showing default, only UTX, only GEX side by side?

I bought UTX USA only and consider it a more important and worthwhile improvement over what GEX would of offered.

Yeah - I am definitely going to check these out and see how they stack up to GEX which I am running currently. They look really impressive.

If you do, pls post your comments back here. Especially how WWW looks below 1000ft. The pix do look impressive, but most scenery looks great from altitude. Where GEX scores (for me) is how it still looks good at low level, where I do a lot of my flying.

The "30 and 50cm" is global. If you have GEX, you must reinstall GEX over.

I also have some ORBX sceneries. Will they have to be reinstalled from scratch also?
