ASE initial download hangs

I am having issues when starting ASE, when I open the program it goes through its motions but with many failed downloads and server switches. ASE is allowed through my firewall and antivirus, not sure where to go from here.

I have Active 2012 same story it hangs after download the metar, everything is greyed on the side tab.

If I close 2012 and run Evolution it works fine.

Any help?

AS2012 started hanging today. It hangs for a bit then you're able to do something then hangs again. Just real sluggish. Can't figure it out.

Looks to me like server issues - I've not had this problem yesterday or today...
