AS Evolution cannot start FSX from network client

Recommended Posts

Help Please,

I have ASE correctly installed on my client and FSX on server is receiving wx data. The ' start FS' button is greyed out on the ASE main panel. How can I rectify this?

Many thanks

Peter,

Correct, manually start ASE on your server PC.

Vaughan

Thanks. I thought maybe I had slipped up somewhere along the ASE setup path.

Good flying

Hello All,

Have the same problem with AS2012. I've read manual very carefully, but cannot resolve it by myself.

Those are steps I ve completed:

1. i've sheared on FSX PC these folders:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files

Shearing optrions:full access

I can access them form the Client PC and form Server PC to Client PC

2. I've installed FSX SDK Acceleration both on Server and Client PC

3. I've installed SimConnect Client on Client PC

4. I've placed SimConnect.xml file in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX on Server PC

and edited it as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0">

<Descr>SimConnect Server Configuration</Descr>

<Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

<SimConnect.Comm>

<Disabled>True</Disabled>

<Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>

<Scope>global</Scope>

<MaxClients>64</MaxClients>

<Address>192.168.2.101</Address>

<Port>500</Port>

</SimConnect.Comm>

<SimConnect.Comm>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

<Protocol>Auto</Protocol>

<Scope>local</Scope>

</SimConnect.Comm>

</SimBase.Document>

(IP number is correct)

5. I've placed SimConnect.ini file in C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files on Server PC

and edited it as follows:

[simConnect]

level=verbose

console=0

;RedirectStdOutToConsole=1

;OutputDebugString=1

;file=c:\simconnect%03u.log

;file_next_index=0

;file_max_index=9

6. I've placed SimConnect.cfg file in C:\Users\[username]\Documents\ on Client PC

and edited it as follows:

[simConnect]

Protocol=IPv4

Address=192.168.2.101

Port=500

MaxReceiveSize=4096

DisableNagle=0

7. I've installed AS2012 on Client PC and defined correct paths for installation folder of FSX on Server PC, AppData folder on Server PC and FSX X Files folder on Server PC as well.

After those operations AS2012 is operative but the 'start FSX' button is greyed out and application dosen't provide any weather to Server PC's FSX.(FSX is Disconnected).

My operation system is Win764bit Home Edition;

Maybe someonne could be so kind and give my clues, how to make it work. (Sorry for my english...not my native language)

Best Regards

LAF

Can you start a program, like a wordprocessing program that is on your server PC, from your client workstation?
