P-40 found intact!

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is old news, and I'm Johnny Come Lately, but take a look at this:

http://www.vintagewings.ca/VintageNews/Stories/tabid/116/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/357/language/en-CA/Original-Kittyhawk-HS-B-Discovered.aspx

Imagine stumbling up-on this when surveying endless acres of sand...

Again, sorry if this is a repost - and not _really_ to do with FLIGHT, but sort of

Yes, I saw the report that the aircraft had been found, but this information and the great pictures is way more then I saw before. Thanks for the link.

That is really interesting. I tried to find the airplane on Google Earth! :LMAO: Silly me, but the news article where I first saw this does mention that it is about 200 miles from the nearest town.

Best regards.

Luis

I guess he means "intact" - for certain values of intact - in this case.

A war bird restorer would love to get there hands on this bird. You just do not find all the military hardware 'intact' like this. Plus it has not been under water for 70 years. The hot dry desert weather is just perfect.
