Very cool. I like the Flight Aware features. Real Time flights is a lot better then scheduled flights.

Thinking the same. I admit to have never actually tried the weather portion of REX mainly because I was either running ASA, then ASE, and now AS2012 on a networked computer, and didn't want to run weather on the same rig that FSX is on. I might try installing the updated version of REX on my AS2012 rig and seeing how the weather portion works. As far as texture updates go, I have my sky, clouds and just about every other generically used FSX texture that REX replaces already dialed in and set for the duration of FSX's life that I doubt I will even need to look at the graphic section again.

The current REX weather engine runs fine on a network. I guess the Essential one does too. Just in case you want to try.

You can get low vis like that with default FSX weather or any other weather program.

Yeah but it's usually a thin layer and you can see through it just before you go in it argh! XPlane does a better job of IMC than fsx... too bad that's about all XP does better lol

isnt there something that makes IMC better? I think REX is better then default but I seem to remember there being a different program that does it quite well.

looking forward to essentials, it will be nice ot have faster load times and of course all the other great features like the weather engine etc

I didn't know a subscription would be required to use the FlightAware features. I guess $1.99/month isn't bad.
