Alert horn and landing gear light on decent?

Featured Replies

I can not figure out why the alert sound and landing gear light stay on while on a decent? Maybe pressure not set correctly or something?

When coming down from 25000' I could not get it to stop. Very annoying.

I gues my wish also is that both prop levers moved at the same time with the mouse.

Thanks! :)

Rob,

If you lower full flaps without lowering the landing gear, that'll happen.

Thanks for the reply Yoda.

The alert starts way up at altitude while descending. If I stop descending the alert stops.

I did not have flaps extended.....I think.....maybe my Thrustmaster engaged them by accident (I changed the button recently)......I will have to check for sure.

You may have decreased the throttle levers below the allowable. During decent if you decrease the throttle too much you will get a audible warning alert. I assume it is some sort of flame out prevention.

I learned very quickly how to use those big spinning speed brakes....

Ahhh, I will bet that is it.

"big spinning speed brakes" So keep the throttle up and control decent speed with the props.

Thanks!

I drop the throttles to the lowest possible without triggering the alarm. That give me about 200knts GS @ 1200fpm. I then use the props to control the added torque as I descend into the thicker air. By the time I get below 10K feet, I am at or below 180knots GS.

Alarm should sound if Ng drops below 80% with gear up.

There you go....

For an answer...

Yes sir,

That was the cause of the alarm. So I will watch that Ng from now on.

Also changed my prop control to my antenna radial dial on my controller so it is easier to control.

Next I need to figure our a better way to adjust my heading bug so I do not have to look down to turn the knob.

Also be aware that if you would drop throttle below Ng 75% the pressurization-system could cause problems !

Best regards,

Would have been nice to have a horn/warning rest button.. and if you went over 75% N, it would rest itself so that it would sound off again if you went below. Could have been tied into the yellow caution button for that matter.

My hats off to them anyway... Complex planes are a labour of love, programing wise.

Thanks guys!

It is nice to know the exact Ng to look out for instead of chopping throttles until I hear the audible.

Andy - Yep, I was just reading the C90B manual about the pressurization systems. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/373787-kingair-c90ab-systems-manual/

+1 HawkDsl - While the audible helps it becomes annoying. Wonder if the real plane has that option?

Good call on the script Pidder. Keeping the head up and not magnetized to the gauges helps.

There's a gear warning silence button on the throttle in the real aircraft.

Exactly! and that button is inoperative in carenado´s so we have to listen that annoying sound :Nerd:
