May 8, 200422 yr Hello all,The price of Switzerland Professional has been discussed to death on the forums primarily by those who have not bought the product and don't intend to.From someone who is debating the purchase, but who still is a little daunted by the price, my question is simple, and it's directed at those who have actually paid the enormous asking price... :Is it really worth it?GreetingsDave

May 8, 200422 yr For me, it was worth it, for the entertainment value. I've already spent enough hours flying with this scenery to compensate for the high price.Switzerland and the Alps in general is probably *the* most spectacular area in Europe. Being able to fly over this area with the kind of detail that the Switzerland Professional scenery offers is as close to "flightsim heaven" it's currently possible to get.I recently posted some screenshots from the scenery. Look for the thread titled "Some chopper pics" in the Screenshots Forum. However, considering the technology behind the scenery, it's grossly overpriced. It's no more technically advanced than the many other "photographic" or "vfr" sceneries out there. I think that the main reason the scenery looks so spectacular, is because the Alps *are* quite spectacular in real life. My guess is that the aerial photos for Switzerland were more expensive than those for other areas. Also, that super-detailed mesh probably wasn't cheap to produce. You can get England and Wales (12 CDs of aerial images) for -
May 8, 200422 yr Thank you Martin, Jimmy and Uwe for taking the trouble to give such detailed replies. Uwe, thanks for your offer, yes I would certainly like to take you up on it, but, dumb question, how do I send you a private e-mail without your e-mail address?GreetingsDave
