Which aircraft would you like to see interfaced in the future

Roger that.

Did not realize it was not popular as I don't track such things or forum much anymore.Saw the title and just felt I could use a couple of helping hands on the flight deck and just putting a vote in.

I get your point. Not a plane for the light hobbyist - just us crustys'. 😏

I didn't say it will never be interfaced.

Just thought finding out who might be be interested in supporting this plane on their forum may give it going sooner rather than much much later, as there are many planes waiting for a cew in MSFS right now.

Surely you would want something like this for the 747 classic.

David likes to hear both FO and FE comment on everything they do (obviously not realistic), but you can turnn option verbose OFF and the flow will be executed silently :🙂

That was more than 6 years sgo. Skip the flight preparation (go to minute 😎

That's awesome Gerald! (might have to pick up the 727)

Yes, if ever there was a need for a couple of extra crew it is in these type of AC. But, I can only imagine the amount of work to get all of the stations working. I'll make a pitch on the 747 page. Give me time to think of the proposal.  🤔

Currently my idea (from what I might can do) is just creating a checklist old William can read to me, but maybe not do the checks to see if the knobs are actually correct.? Wonder if that would work - as an interim measure from my side. Tested with the stock 747 MCE but of coarse buttons do not turn.

I'm a happy MCE user and have most products for MSFS, Xplane & RC4. Support has always been great! Thanks

Should have reported the stock 747 as normally thaty one is supported as is the Supercritical 747-400 (or 800 can't remember).

The "checklist" tab has an option "No state check".

You can enable it for non-supported planes and you can go through the checklist.

Only snag, MCE not being aware of that plane, we'll have to at least identify it so the flight engineer can hop on, even if he can't do much with that plane at this time.

Assign any checklist you want.

Have these markers added to each line

[ ] Landing lights  -- ON       (no marker, means Captain is expected to reply

[ ] Landing lights  -- ON   //2 (copilot only replies)

[ ] Landing lights  -- ON   //3 (copilot & Captain expected to reply)

[ ] Landing lights  -- ON   //4  FE (copilot only replies)

[ ] Landing lights  -- ON   //6  FE (copilot & Flight Engineer reply)

[ ] Landing lights  -- ON   //7  FE (all 3 expected to reply).

To identify the plane, go to "advanced options" panel and click <View config>

xpmce.ini will show up in Notepad. Change "Debug=0" to "Debug=1" and assuming that 747 is loaded, restart MCE and should see some dialog box showing some info MCE uses to identify which plane it is and from which vendor.

Either post the screenshot here or send it to support e-mail.

The next X-Plane update which is expected late next week will have the ability to at least recognize the plane needs a flight engineer, make it available so you can have a three way checklist reading reading session.

The stock 747 will also be checked to see if it's not confused with another plane or simply has changed datarefs or things like that breaking the interface.

Thanks for everything!

And yes I love the checklist creation feature and use it often. Especially the //2

While I have your "ear". 2 things: I can start this to another thread if that is better.

1 - It would be nice if I could have the copilot start the chorono/clock timer to track block time. Not sure how to add actions. I do know how to delete them with a method you outlined. Just as a future request on planes not the 747. Like the currently supported ixeg,ff etc.

2- I have looked and looked but can not figure out how to stop William from announcing every step he takes on his flow. You mentioned that above in regards to that video. All I have accomplished is accidentally no longer getting vspeed callouts.

Cheers,

Thanks for the screenshot.

Forgot to also ask about the name of the "whatever_name.acf" (aircraft file in aircraft folder)

Regarding 1:

In next MCE X-Plane package, we'll have a listbox of commands you can add, so you won't need to read the doc. Initially for mostly used planes like Zibo, Toliss, ixeg, Flight Factor.

Similar to this which is already in MCE MSFS edition. See this video with PMDG in MSFS

>media>

Up to now, you would have needed to wade into the documentation to find out which commands to add. See this very old Voxscript tutorial showing how to create any task for FO to perform

<media>

Regarding item 2:

In Voxscript overview panel, select a flow and click <Edit>

In next panel, you'll see a "verbose" option.

Enable it if you want to hear Fo comment on eveything he does. Disable the option for silent flow operation.

You need to do it for each flow.

B742_PW_Felis.acf

That is genius on adding flows! Just gets better and better the more I learn.

Nice! Happy dance on getting those flows a bit quieter.

Last one - why do you think he stops calling v speeds at take off. He was calling 80knts and no vspeeds but he doesn't even call that anymore. Happened again today. Driving the IXEG

It's showing "Takeoff from ????". That means he doesn't know where he is.

Which X-Plane version? Which airport ICAO ID? Thanks

Thank you my friend. Yes, I had just booted up XPlane 11 and took pics of my settings w/o having a flight booked to show you my settings.

Anyways, I worked on this last night. There must be something I am doing inconsistently because I did get it to work.

I never fly w/o a flight plan and RC4. Plans are setup in multiple places/ files - coroutes for ixeg, default XPlane output FMS, My docs Flight plans for RC4.

I boot RC4 before MCE, as per instructions, to get the flight plan.

Not sure how/where MCE gets the vspeeds from? From the - flight plan, bugs set on the speed gauge, FMS, or MCE UI?

I added a lua script that also makes the vspeed calls according to bugs on speed gauge - in case I miss something with the MCE. My backup plan. 😬

Thanks!

For this specific issue, I suggest you post here to see if it's related to the plugin

It's long overdue, MCE for X-Plane update finally coming out this week. We'll add a mechanism to force X-Plane window to the fore in order to ensure it's not a case of "lost focus" and X-Plane alway gets the key-combo as expected.

You never know with all those background tasks (X-Plane or not related plugins) stealing the window focus unless you keep clicking inside X-Plane window regularly..

Cheers,

X-Plane update delayed a bit.

Having said that, here is an interim patch that should get you going with making MCE ecognize Felix 742 and make a flight engineer available for it.

http://www.multicrewxp.com/Patch-MceForXPlane.zip

Manually replace files as per folder structure.

Will you be supporting the new IFly 737 MAX?

Definitely.

We already support their 737 & 747 in Prepar3D & FSX.

Thank you.
