FS9 and FSX on same HDD

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I'm here to ask advice. I have, after 12 months, been successful in re-installing FSX on its very own drive. My 3 PMDG aircraft and my A2A Duke and Piper are working flawlessly. All of this and REX 2. I have not dared, yet to install all the ORBX airports. I love them but this old system is showing its age (Q9650 Extreme @ 3ghz std, 4 ghz ram, 560ti 1024 mb vm). You need more than that to get the best out of them.

Anyway, after doing all of this and flying a couple of tut's, I'm back in the FS Community (Thank God!! I hear you cry).

I miss, FSNavigator. Therein lies the purpose of this post. I'm actually using old FS9, FSNav flightplans in FSX quite successfully, so I'm thinking of putting an installation of FS9 on the drive, just so I can do FSVav flightplans to use in FSX. The question is: Am I crazy. Is there a better solution ie: FSBuild will need to have improved, considerably for me to consider it as an alternative Flightplan program. This is Win7 Pro 64 bit and with the single program and add-ons, it's just humming. Any tips, experiences etc. that I should be wary of with installing FS9 on a 64 bit OS.

I will really appreciate some responses.

Jon

You won't have any problems adding FS4 to your HDD :).

In the unlikely event that you havn't already tried Plan G freeware, be sure to try it out. Its nice having such a detailed map where you can see your own house, etc.
