FS Crash on arrivals

Hi. FS2CREW has been great, can't imagine flying much without it. However, I am starting to have more FS Crashes. Thankfully the crashes happen at the best possible time arrival into my destination. The crash happens usually right after engine shutdown. Gate Arrival or None-gate arrival it has happened both times and has happened in about 4 out of the last 8 flights. The error I get is a box that says:

 

"The exception unknown software exception (000.....) occured in the application at location 0x73858aa0."

 

Any ideas why this happens? It happens at all types of airports and weather and times. A lot of AI, little AI, night and clear day and cloudy etc..

 

Windows 7 64bit.

Hi Steven,

 

The randomness makes it tough to troubleshoot, assuming it's even related to FS2Crew which is hard to say because I've never had this.

 

What is the exact time it crashes? What's the last thing the FO does?

 

Try moving your sliders a little to the left as well.

Exactly what happens to me, never happened on the NGX before using FS2Crew. It is always when shutting down engines, before hearing the chime from the FA about the slides disarmed. I saw once the FO selecting the Ground Connections page on his CDU (in order to select wheel chocks) right before the crash.

"Unfortunately" it doesn't happen every time, but I am not doing regular flights, so it's not easy to say how often. I can say that, out of about 10 sessions with taxi-in and parking included in the last period, it happened 2-3 times, more or less.

I am having the exact same problem described above. Doesnt happen on every flight, but when it happens it always occurs at the same place (after moving start levers to cuttoff and before the FA says "all slides are disarmed."

I will proably get a few flights in, in the next week or so. I will pay close attention to see when it happens. I think it happens right around when the FA chimes in. But last time I think it happened right after I went to cut off the engines. I will try my best to reproduce it and give you some more info. I should have a few flights in by next Monday. Will let you know.

Hi Bryan, I also experience the above problem...CTD on engine shutdown, but only on engine shutdown...all other aspects of fs2crew work fine, preflight, startup, takeoff, descent, landing, cleanup, but as soon as I pull into the parking bay, put the parking brake on then shutdown the engines he CTD occurs.

 

I've tried evey suggestion both in the manual, and other suggestions made by you in this forum.

 

Now this problem doesn't happen all the time, just most of the time.

 

I have a hunch it may have something to do with a conflict with GSX, because when I don't use it, there's no crash.

 

The CTD seems to happen just after the marshal crosses his batons, and the messages come across the top of the screen, such as oprate jetway, or good parking etc.

 

What makes this so frustrating is it was happening every time at Melbourne airport with the Orbx add on.

 

I also have Orbx Australia scenery installed.

 

However this morning I did a flight from YMLT to YMML and no CTD, however when I continued to fly on to Sydney...CTD.

 

It seems to be an intermittant fault, which as you know is the hardest to nail down.

 

I use the button control version, and I know this is the voice control section, but that's where I noticed a similar problem to the one I'm experiencing.

Hi all, I've just completed 8 flights to airports where I have been experiencing CTDs on engine shutdown.

 

Eight out of eight flights completed successfully, and no CTD on engine shutdown.

 

The only thing I did differently, was after landing, I didn't call on GSX to allocate a gate number.

 

When I taxied to the gate I shut the engines down, and answered the disable slides call.

 

I then called on GSX to deboard passengers.

 

The only thing I didn't use was the GSX marshal to guide the aircraft to the gate.

 

Hope this may be helpful in finding a solution.

Thing is I know other users have GSX and they don't have this issue.

 

You all using the latest version of GSX????

Hi Bryan, I have the latest edition of GSX, I even completely uninstalled it and downloaded the latest version from their webside.

 

I also thought my FSUIPC may have been corrupted, and reinstalled it also.

 

However still getting CTD crashes, until I tried what I did in the post above.

Hi Bryan, I 've got the same problem mentioned above. I don't use GSX and the marshal, but I haven't had this problem before I installed version 1.4.

Me too! CTD at shutdown. Also, during preflight checklist, when the FO calls for the engine start levers cut off, captain replies cutoff and FO replies are you positive? Everytime, (levers are in cutoff pos.) Even after several re-installs of both FS2C and NGX SP1c.

 

I am using V1.4 on a Vista64 system. Latest version of GSX. And happens during dawn, dusk and daytime. This has been an ongoing issue from V1.1 sometimes it will crash during the long flow before pre flight checklist right after the FO sets the LDG ALT. on the pressurization panel.

Just arrived at CYVR from CYLW. Taxied in without using GSX, no crash and I am now ready to plan second leg back to CYLW. I will try this flight back to CYLW without GSX on arrival.

 

I should also clarify, I am using the button version. Sorry, I know, wrong forum but same issue.

Just set up for a third leg successfully. Again I did not use GSX. I used FS2C pushback with no issue.

 

I have a hunch (at least for me) GSX is somehow conflicting with FSC. If I don't use GSX, I can do multiple legs without issue.

 

However, the "are you positive?" during start lever cutoff call from FO is still present. And during after TO checklist, FO calls "flaps down" after "gear up no lights".
