I'm afraid you're going to have to post some info from your Event Viewer. Look in your Event Viewer for the exact time and date of each CTD and let us know at least the faulting module. The FA18 came with Acceleration. To get to the Event Viewer, click on the Start button and type Event Viewer in the Search box then look up and click on Event Viewer. Look in Event Viewer (local), then Custom Views, then Administrative Events.

Best regards,

Jim

This sounds like that old chestnut UIAutomationCore.dll issue when changing Views that causes CTDs. If you do a search on this as it's been covered in depth here in this Forum, I'm sure you find the solution.

(@Jim, I'm not trying to jump over the top of you here and steal your thunder here, just an alternative look at it as this is exactly what I had long, long time ago before I discovered NickN's Tweaks)

This is my last error flying my FA/18...

The msvcr80.dll is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. The version of msvcr80.dll on my system is 8.00.50727.42 dated 4/3/2012. It is located in the same directory as referenced in your post (C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a\MSVCR80.dll). Note that my version is 8.00.50727 and yours is 8.0.50727. You should run Windows Update to make sure you have the latest version. Also, thanks to NickN in his article on Setting up FSX and Tuning It you should have the following:

"Make sure you have the C++ library update installed.

http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2067

You want to download and install:

ENU (vcredist_x86.exe) NOTE: Or the one which is right for your OS language ENU= ENGLISH

The C++ Library update is needed for some 3rd party support and is installed with Acceleration. The link above is to the LATEST update which did not ship with Accel

I suggest you install the update regardless of what version of FSX you run to be sure you are covered as you may add items to your sim over time."

The Exception code: 0xc000000d is related to a Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable error too. The F18 comes with Acceleration and you may have just installed Acceleration or ran a repair. If you ran a repair, you might have copied over an older version of the MSVCR80.dll. Again, make sure you have the latest versions and Microsoft fixes on your system.

Your assistance is always appreciated. This is not my forum but I do enjoy helping others with their issues. Feel free to pass on your recommendations too!! FYI, the UIAutomationCore.dll belongs to Microsoft.net. Everyone who has FSX installed should have Versions 1 thru 4 (with updates) on their system as the FSX team used Version 1 to develop FSX (or at least that's when Version 1 and FSX were released and FSX was developed around the time Vista was released. FSX will install the correct version used to develop FSX and the proper MSV (2005) but sometimes people reinstall Windows and move their FSX installation to the new install and get the Flight1 registry repair to fix the installation. Windows 7 only installs Version 4. This is why I think many have problems but I can't be positive so it's my thoughts and my thoughts only. I do have Versions 1 thru 4 installed on my system and MSV's from 2005, 2008, and 2010 installed (a new MSV 2012 was just released to developers so I expect future addons to include this version).

Best regards,

Jim

Hi Jim. Bang on the mark like an Olympic marksman with that last portion of your post. You've put it far better than I could. Nice one, buddy. Hope it resolves the OP's issues.
