Dirt Strips

Recommended Posts

You learn something new every day.

From a couple thousand feet above ground many things look like dirt strips that, upon closer approach, are just strips of dirt.

I like finding nice big fields that are flat enough to land on. When it's 100 yards wide, precise alignment doesn't really matter.

Isn't that the truth! :LMAO: I always have a hard time finding the ones where an airplane can land.

Best regards.

Still one of my favorite things to do is hit the "B" key and start looking for a place to land. Total electical failer, no power, no flaps, most gages are out. Put the nose down, best glide rate established, maintain flying speed and land when you still have control, where ever that my be. Hitting the B key in flight will also apply the breaks so your landing roll will be really short.
