So I was planning to get some work done on my thesis this weekend...

Eamonn,

It's the P51-D only. Make sure you get the Accusim too. There is a checkbox for the Accusim at the bottom of the order screen.

There is a newer P-51H under development but it will not be Accusim. It will be an Aircraft Factory title. It is discussed here:

The Accusim P-51D is brilliant. Love the Korean War black cockpit scheme.

And if the A2A P-51D was not enough, Real Air has just released the Lancair Legacy today.

The new P-51D seems to be about as fast as the old one, my temperatures didn't get out of hand even with full throttle and RPM at cruising altitude, and I was able to maintain the power setting for at least half an hour (at which point I wanted to see what I needed to do to damage the engine, so I went into a dive). There were some lower values in the compression test afterwards, so maybe it wouldn't make it through two hours. The plaque in the cockpit says to only have it at that power setting for five minutes, but there was no immediate failure at least...

We should probably do a test in it.. Run it flat out for 2 hours with AccuSim going and see what the state of the plane is or if it makes it.. If not then we just run without accusim.. lol

So I did a repeat of my first flight in this years race, P-51D KEGE-KATY. Was about 10 minutes slower, full throttle and RPM (almost) the whole way. Had a bit of an issue with fuel, didn't put enough in to feel comfortable the whole way! Cruised at around 350 knots GS, it was quite a bit faster yesterday...

(It's red because of an accidental refueling somewhere along the way, could have been when I changed the weather, but I don't know. Need to put in a GPS as well, it's quite clear where I opened PlanG :LMAO: )
