F4U Corsair is on Marketplace

On the other hand, the cockpits of those old planes tend to be really complicated, with all sorts of knobs and levers and whatnot. Animating even one of those has to be a bit daunting, and one a month is maybe asking for trouble. Perhaps the relative simplicity of most modern cockpits will be easier for MS to support.

Ah, it's not so bad...

Considering how many non-functional controls and instruments are already in the RV-6 and M7, they already prioritize the parts of the VC they want working.

There was always the possibility for MSF studio to use gray matter from their skulls : offering another cockpit/ inside view solution as stated in Steam forums. Of course there is the full res (but not full options) cockpit like in the Maule, but the warbirds could have gone out with a special HUD setting, or a 2D-styled cockpit, or even a high res-even fewer option inside view...

But the hardest thing for me to figure is how MSF intend to react (if reaction at all !) to the apparently poor sales results of these cockpitless/ missionless/ gameplaylow aircrafts...

I am very curious how you know about any poor sales! Enlighten us!

Yes, I'm curious also. It has been noted that there are plenty of these basic aircraft showing up in multipllayer and quite a few here have purchased them, so obviously some are buying them.

I keep thinking about Flight and how much support I am willing to give it based of where we are to date on DLC. I am thinking that Alaska will be a game changer for me and many others since it will hopefully bring plenty of new areas to fly in and hopefully new, complete aircraft, which gets me totally stoked for Flight.

Based off initial impressions around hawaii and the first complete aircraft, I envision new aerocaches of taking my new bush plane (withVC) and taking hunters to a hunting lodge, on flight seeing trips around Juneau, supply runs in IFR conditions over mountains of thick forests. Using the new first person view to do walk arounds of my trusty bushplane (withVC) at my FBO in ketchikan, parking my amphib bush plane at the dock and walking down the peir to my destination. Then it dawns on me, what if this isn't what we are going to get. :Hypnotized:

Same here, with an emphasis on the "hopefully." I remain cautiously optimistic.

There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.

Flight has the potential for all of that... it only needs the will to make it happen, and the courage to acknowledge that the path of March, April and May leads only to a dreary and rapid end.

What concerns me most is that the best things in Flight appear to exist in spite of Microsoft's plan, not because of it.

I'm waiting to land the Icon, wheels up, on a glacier for the toboggan ride of ALL TIME!

I saw the "New content available" notice on steam and sure enough it is ANOTHER-...

I am uninstalling flight until a new deluxe aircraft is released. I gave them one more chance and they failed.

"Pain" isn't sufficient is this newest case... To me, it's absolutely heartbreaking to see such a beautifully modeled Corsair, flung out as nothing more than a hollow shell.

Agreed. Flight is now fully uninstalled and is not going back on until Microsoft change their ways and start regularly releasing "deluxe" aircraft with full VC's

calm blue ocean... calm blue ocean... calm blue ocean... calm blue ocean

Pity you uninstalled Flight because it has plenty of calm blue ocean which you seem to like to much...!

After all, you'll need some practice doing those future Hawaii-to-Alaska missions.

Who knows, maybe we could just end up with the planes "Jumping" from the edge of the hawaii map to the edge of the Alaska map, skipping most of the flying time with a loading screen

You can already fly off the map to undeveloped land, so I don't see any artificial barriers or teleporting planes as likely.

Well, it certainly is pretty. I have been watching other people fly it, and it practically begs to be seen from the cockpit. A real shame, since this plane with a cockpit would be an instant must-buy. As it stands, its a "Maybe someday if I am bored and have nothing better to do"

Someday long after the release of Alaska.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

I... may actually buy it. I've got a movie to make that's been in my head ever since I saw this DLC was going to be a naval aircraft.

Talk me out of it, please.

Go get it, RoboRay! Make that movie!
