Ditto to the above. I've just spent the last little while trying a few searches and have found none of what I was after. The file library search function was a key feature of the old library and it would be a great pity if that is now lost.

I whole heartily agree.. Why did they do that to us. AVSIM Sucks now because of no library search.. Mise well close up shop now, because everyone will go back to flightsim.com because nothing works now on avsim.. because they had to go & mess up something that was so good about it..

Go back to what was great about avsim & stop messing around with something that wasn't broke.. Why change something so good, now it absolutely sucks on AVSIM..

You search with the advanced search option above in the Download section. However it doesn't seem to be working yet. Tom says their still working out the kinks. It's probably just an initial Database synchronization issue, so just give it a day or two, to let them work the problems out of it.

On further analysis, it would seem the search function is only accepting one word. For instance a search for Air France will bring up 'No results found for air france' while a search for France or air separately will bring up scores of files for each.

 

It does appear though that the ability to refine the search to a particular section or sub-section of the library is gone.

 

I can also not see anywhere for me to view the included files in a particular download and this was a great feature of the old library.

 

Apologies if these features are there already and I just haven't found them or they are ready to be rolled out, but my first impressions are of great disappointment.

Please Bring back the AVSIM Extended search page back to where you had it under the file library link at top of the page like it was this morning before I went to work.. Everything was working just fine this morning.. I come home from work & its gone.. :(

Ah, Just found the Advanced Search Function. Yes, that indeed will be most satisfactory once the kinks are ironed out.

 

Would still like to see the files included in a particular download in advance of the actual download though.

 

I am warming to it slowly.

So leave then. If you hate this free service that 'sucks' so much, feel free to use the door. I'm sure nobody will miss you.

Seriously what was the point of this? It's slow, it looks confusing and the search function is non existent.

 

I call for a revert and a ban on any further changes to the system.

It is broke in my opinion, never liked the fact you can only search on words of 4 letters or more. Tried searching on AI Strobe and it kicked me right out. Like the new site but the Search here is the weakest link in the chain.
