June 12, 201213 yr Yearly (and sometimes more often) I reformat and reinstall everything. Add-on soup makes my installation heavy and slow, but each time I reinstall my installation becomes more streamlined (keeping the less used add-ons in storage and uninstalled). I've gotten pretty good at making a reformat last only an evening during "spring cleaning" with music blaring. A yearly clean out is quite a good idea.
