Hello citizens

I've just uploaded my latest scenery to AVSIM and it is Ballina Byron Gateway airport. Ballina is located on the northern NSW coast and is only 30kms south of Byron Bay.

The scenery contains the airport and 100sq kms of photoreal which covers the town and surrounding area. There are over 350 custom made objects including some nice new custom runway and taxiway lighting as well as some new approach lighting (no more yucky FSX lights). The photoreal is designed to work best with FTX Australia textures but the scenery will work (more or less) with default FSX. It just won't look as nice.

The runway is 1900m long. Jetstar (A320) and Virgin Australia (B737) have daily flights to and from Syndey and Melbourne. Rex also flies the Saab 340 to Sydney (with a stopover at nearby Lismore) as well as Newcastle.

Other businesses located at the airport include Aussie Air Flight School, Byron Bay Air Charter (C310), Classic Aero Adventure Flights (Winjeel), Air T&G helicopter flights and training, Aeroweld aircraft repairs and Lightwing aircraft manufacturers.

The scenery comes in two parts (the total size is 280MB and flight sim libraries usually limit uploads to 250MB) so download each part, run the installers within each part and then manually add "Ants Aussie Airports Ballina" to your FSX scenery library.

You should be able to download the scenery from here (make sure you get both parts):

That looks fantastic. I love flying in AU and your scenery looks pro. I love flying to smaller places like Coff's Harbour so this will be great. Thank you!

I will download it shortly.

Another great Ants Aussie Airport thanks mate.

I was watching the REX Saabs out of a Qantas 767 window at Sydney yesterday, and wondered if there are any for FSX.

That's amazing work Anthony - and freeware as well ! Got your Sierra and Eaglet and love them both.

If you have FTX Australia you should be just fine, even if you don't the scenery will still work although the ground textures will not blend so well with the surrounding default textures. eg default FSX in summer for this area of Australia shows horrible yellow sand textures. This area is actually subtropical so during summer it is actually very green (which FTX gets right). If you have default FSX then try flying in spring and autumn for the best match to the default FSX textures.
