Got to spend a little time with this over the weekend and very impressed with the improvements over the previous version (which I uninstalled about an hour after installing). The atmospheric scattering, clouds, lighting, smooth rendering of autopen even at high speeds on the deck, the sea, the rain effects (although not on the cockpit glass unfortunately), the ground textures, all really good. I'm going to be spending a lot more time (and money) in this world from now on.

I have a feeling it's a really low priority but are there any plans to improve the mesh? It's clearly quite low resolution which really stands out in the mountainous areas.

Also, has anything been said about long-term plans for other areas after Nevada?

Not for the current black sea map, not in the near future at least. The current map was built with the old engine and the  entire map basically need to be remade to utilize the new features of the new graphic engine which doesn't really worth it and they are all focused on working on the new NTTR map at the moment, and then the Strait of Hormuz map and the 1944 Normandy map...

I think we'll have to wait for new maps and theaters for improvements.

Understood. NTTR's mesh looks much better in places. I can see 3rd party can develop planes for DCS, what about maps?

Maps too.

Curiously, the Nevada Map will have a single summer texture, because it's based on satellite imagery, and it would be very heavy and expensive to make it vary with seasons... ( dejá vue in X-plane :-) )

Thanks Mr Dragon. Looks like lots of positive development coming. Falkland Islands? If that means sea harriers I'm going to be quite happy.
