June 21, 201213 yr I just picked up my copy of the Real Air Lancair Legacy yesterday. I must say this is a fantastic little plane. Sleek, simple, and it sure is fast. Great job Real Air! I personally have been interested in knowing more about the Lancair Legacy since I knew it was a kit plane. A week or so ago I was looking for a blog style web site that outlined the build process and I stumbled upon this site: http://www.lancairlegacy.com. The web site follows the progress of Don Barnes, who's aircraft is included in the RA Legacy package (N508DB), from day one all the way to final paint. It's an excellent read, plus there are tons of links to other people who have built their own Legacy's, discussion forums, ect.. all chock full of information. Check it out and I guarantee by the time your done reading it you will almost smell the resin in the cockpit. Nick Preston
June 21, 201213 yr I have been surfing on many Legacy sites since buying the RA. Drinking the "kool-aid" in all of them. What we need is a "fan site" or "flying club" forum for all of us. This bird is developing a "cult following" rapidly. Bryan K.Ottawa, CanadaCurrent virtual hangar: Flight1 BN2 Islander, A2A C182, A2A C172, Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended

June 21, 201213 yr I agree, it is a great addon and my favorite piston GA meanwhile. While doing first research about it I found this lancair video (real life), and I really love it :)
June 21, 201213 yr It's very nice to hear all that and I'm grateful for the enthusiasm. One thing I'd like to ask all the good people on this forum, and that is about the unpleasant subject of piracy. In the last few days we've been investigating a lot of piracy sites and, together with other evidence we've gathered, we reckon there are are currently at least 6000 pirate downloads of the Legacy, which is several thousand more than we have sold legally., and the number is growing. I know we are not the only developer suffering this epidemic, and this subject has come up on a regular basis in many forums. But we are being utterly crippled by Piracy at the moment. I would urge everyone here who is decent and honest to try to discourage piracy of this kind by any person they might be in contact with. We want to avoid drastic measures in the future, like restricting installs to a small number or implementing double or triple activation. We know piracy is unavoidable, and it is just an unfortunate reality to many FS developers,.I just wish there was an answer. You guys do an outstanding job in every way and deserve better for your efforts. The people doing this, STEALING FROM YOU and preying on all of your hard work, are beneath contempt. Wish I had the answers to this problem, but you certainly have my support. Scott
June 21, 201213 yr Doesn't sound good. Not really sure what the community can do to help? Like myself, I rebuild my PC a few times, test patches, uninstall and rreinstall, then ask Rob to reactive my purchase, which is done straight away, so I would't want restricted installs, but there must be a better way. Can it not be that the activation code is registered with realair, and when its activated too many times it's blocked? I dunno, I don't know much about it really. I guess the pirates are always one step ahead. Open to all suggestions! .... I can't type tonight, too many Erdingers! -Iain Watson-
June 21, 201213 yr Rob, It is so frustrating and disheartening to hear this. Surely there must be a way of stopping theft of your product. Your loyal customers are your loyal customers, so what can we do to help? Kind regards,

Best Wishes, Rob - RealAir As a customer of Real Air I want you to do whatever you can, it bother's me that I bust my &@($* off to make the money I do to purchase these wonderful products, and to know there people out there getting it for free really gets me angry, I have no problems with whatever you guys come up with. I have been putting off the purchase of the Lancair because Im in the middle of a move, but after seeing that video I've got GA fever again, got a few days before my pc gets boxed up, I might just have to take her out for a spin:) Good luck Rob, hope this crap won't discourage you guys to the point of shutting down.
June 21, 201213 yr I say that RealAir should do whatever they have to to protect their property. So what if legitimate purchasers have to jump through a hoop or two to reinstall the product? At least implement a Flight1-like system of key and activation to prevent such thievery. How else can we ensure that great artists like Rob & Co can and will continue to produce such terrific products? Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual

I think most of us would gladly sign up for something like that in order for you to keep doing the great work that you do. Scott KGPI

June 21, 201213 yr Rob, have you got the Sibwings BirdDog? I can't be certain, but I don't think there are any pirate copies of that about. Their system is slightly cumbersome but it seems to work! June 21, 201213 yr Rob, I firmly believe those of us who admire and respect you and your associates will stand behind you in your efforts to combat piracy. Not of one of us would opt to forego your products in return for an "easy" download and activation. My friend, you do what you have to do - all of us will continue to support you! John
