What is the best twin engine plane for FS2004

Featured Replies

Hmm, tough one. The Meridian is fast and modern. The Cheyenne is a lot faster (two engines remember) but does not have the sophistication and modern aviation hardware found on nifty craft like the Citation and Meridian. I like flying the Cheyenne because it has two engines, flies to FL410 and does 244 KIAS (about 400 mph). I love the graphics of the FSD Cheyenne, I think it looks great. I also like the 'not-so-modern' gauges and audio/navigation system on the Cheyenne (it was built from 1982-1989). The Meridian is excellent quality both outside and inside too though. It is the most powerful single-engine turbine aircraft next to the Pilatus PC-12. I love the 'glass' cockpit in the Meridian. The Flight1 rendition of this plane includes the RealityXP Garmin GPS which adds to the realism. The Meridian can do 189 KIAS at FL300. The Meridian is a truely modern aircraft, being build by New Piper in 2000.I feel that the Meridian handles very well and makes for a nice 1000nm aircraft. The Cheyenne can carry more people and payload farther, flies twice as fast and looks "badd" doing it. I think of the Meridian as a sleek BMW or Mercedes sports sedan, and the Cheyenne as a 454 big-block Chevelle. The Meridian packs a 500shp P&W PT6A turbine and the Cheyenne 2x1000shp Garrett turbines. It's hard to compare such disimilar aircraft, which is why I fly both of them often. I am looking forward to the Aeroworx Beenchcraft Super King Air B200 (large, dual-turbine) and the FSD International Piper Aerostar 700 (turbo-piston power). I like 'old-school' aircraft from the 70's and 80's that don't have all the techno-wizard gadgetry such as the Cheyenne and the Aerostar. But I also have the new millenium Meridian in my hangar just to see how awesome the newest stuff really is.It should be noted that my first FS2004 payware aircraft was the Flight1 Meridian. I think that was a great start after outgrowing the default MS aircraft.Good luck!

A much improved flight model and simply outstanding looks... this thing flies and looks just great! The VC is also head and shoulders above anything FS default offers.Have a look at the Avsim review pictures!

The Socata TBM700 has the Meridian beat in terms of speed & range. I think the Meridian is #3 behind the PC-12. The TBM is definatley a nicer aircraft. Would be cool to see one for MSFS.

What do you mean by 'outstanding looks'? My impression of the panel veiws are that they look like the default King air.

I actually meant the outside view, but the panel is a big improvement over the King Air, especially if you get the JetLine2 gauges.
