New freeware scenery for Boryspil International Airport (UKBB)

Featured Replies

I d/l this scenery only for it to be imediately deleted by Norton as unsafe.

This was mainly based on the fact that it had not been downloaded many times but also because the author had not signed it.

I d/l "boryspil.zip" instead but had to alter the hold short nodes in the Afcad so the AI Traffic would work.

  • Actually I lost my storage disk last year in which I stored many sceneries, one of them was this UKBB scenery. But now when I go to download it from the site, I notice that the website no more exists

  • I doubt if this is that scenery which I need because this is a very old version of 2005 but the one I had was nearly 2012 version... If anyone had stored it, kindly share it to me... Thank y

  • Thank you very much! I really needed that cool scenery again in my FS9! Thank you once again!

Hmmm, thanks for the heads up re. hold short nodes. Will check this in AFCAD2

Beware ! Don't use the scenery.cfg automatic update function coming with the installer : it creates a real mess in FS9 and FSX by deleting default terrain entries. I spent 3 hours to figure out what the matter was before I verified my scenery.cfg files : happily enough, the installer creates backups for those files. So by friendly advice, just update your scenery files manually !

Out of curiosity, where does it put those backups you mention?

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

In FS9, the installer creates a backup and puts it in the FS main folder (like the original scenery.cfg).

For FSX, it puts it in the same folder as the main scenery.cfg too, but I don't remember the exact string : FSX creates several scenery.cfg in different places, but reads only one file, for some mysterious reason only understood by Bill Gates himself.

Thanks Henri. I have no interest in FSX, so no probs about that.

Actually I lost my storage disk last year in which I stored many sceneries, one of them was this UKBB scenery. But now when I go to download it from the site, I notice that the website no more exists and thus I am not able to download it again. So I would kindly request anyone to share it to me so that I can again fly in this legendary airport...

Thank you!

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Hey Guys,

When I try to use the supplied link under the first post in this thread, for downloading the Boryspil airport, I get a wierd looking warning about HTTPS being incorrect, missing, or something like that.

Is this somehow dangerous or am I doing something wrong myself ??

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Charliearon, (or anyone else),

Thanks for your reaction but I've now followed the different links in this thread many times but always end up at "download" and "download now" buttons, which somehow do not seem to want to work. One of them even seems a little promising by what looks like it's waiting for a page of some sort to open but nothing seems to happen, not even after at least five times 20 minutes or so.

You seem to have downloaded the Boryspil airport correctly via your quoted link but could you please try to again get past these buttons in test mode to see if you can at least confirm my problem.

Thanks for any trouble taken.

Sorry!  It's probably not a good site or a trusted place to download anything from.

Hey Guys,

I finally managed to download the Boryspil airport but when trying to install it, it turned out that I already had it. Not only that but my existing version, which I've had for many years, looked exactly the same as this newer version, the only differences being the naming of the BGLs and their quantity in the newer airport's scenery folder.

I renamed my older version and gave the new one the same name, just to do some visual comparisons but was not able to find any significant differences, in fact none at all !! The end result was that I'm keeping my old version but also for another reason and that is that I had at some time in the past, combined this Boryspil scenery with that of the Chernobyl Nuclear power plant ruins, situated within a reasonable helicopter flying time away ...... for my toerists.

Anyway, it's still a very well made airport scenery.
