US heat wave: Alaska pack wellcome in this heat wave

Recommended Posts

The nice chilly winter sceneries in the Alaska pack are a nice change of scene here.

I went for a bicycle ride but could not stay out, as it became harder than expected to catch my breath after climbibg small hills.

So here I am in the chill of Alaska, at least the sight is refreshingly cooling

Similarly, Hawaii pack was a sight for frozen eyes this past febuary...LOL

It was 108 here yesterday, at 8:30 pm yesterday evening it was 100.

Currently it is 106 here today.

This heat is unbelievable, and we have not had rain in forever, and none forecast in the near future.

But yes, to keep on topic, the winter sceneries in Alaska are refreshing!

104 degrees in Atlanta, which is an all time record I believe.

Pretty hard to fly anything anywhere with no power. See my post in the Hangar forum and put in your experience(s) with the weather over the last week.

Suggestion... never travel SOUTH to visit family during a continent-wide heat-wave.*

Ugh, 102 today here in Alabama while was 'only' 95 back home.

* Does not apply to our friends in the southern hemisphere.

Severe drought here, only 52% humidity, so it could have felt a lot worse than it did.

I do miss icy Alaska visuals, though... no Flight for the whole next week!

Here in Florida it's a nice cool (Relatively speaking) 90 degrees (Which is normal for us this time of year)! My best wishes for those affected by this, and hope your AC keeps running!!

Thanks

Nearly as cold as Alaska here in New Zealand at present.

Just lit the wood burner.

Well hello Neighbor! Just noticed you're in Charlottesville (go Cavaliers!) I'm in the Fredericksburg area.

Yeah, the past few days have really sucked weather-wise. We got hit in that Friday night storm that left a million people across the state without power on a 100-degree-plus weekend. Thankfully we were only out for a day.
