Did I hear Tabs say they would love to do a CRJ at some point?

That is MUSIC to my ears!!!

The Aersoft one will never get done :(

I assume unfortunately that "loving" to do something and actually doing it (especially with the load on their plate) are two very different things.  I doubt we'll see it.

I've got no problem if PMDG decides to do a CRJ, or any other aircraft for that matter.  Whatever they choose, their quality assures no matter what it is, it will likely be the best that's out there.

I've flown on CRJ's before and was pleasantly suprised at the ride.  And there are plenty of them flying around the world.  In fact, a FlightAware search on the CRJ200 shows 125 flying right at this moment, all concentrated in the U.S. and Europe.  Many shorter hops are being done by regional jets instead of larger aircraft these days.  They can get into some pretty small fields.

In case it hadn't been posted yet, here's a Wiki article on who is using them:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bombardier_CRJ_operators

There's a big problem with the CRJ - The airlines don't want them anymore. Apart from the CRJ NextGen we'll most likely see a major shrinkage of the CRJ fleet worldwide by the time PMDG releases an addon after the 777 plus variants, DC-7 and 747v2. (I'm guessing 2016 at the earliest, depends if PMDG want to continue with the Dash 8-100/200)

IMO The most commercially sensible addon projects (after the named WIP projects) would be the 737 MAX with the revised cockpit, the ATR72-600, the Bombardier C-Series and large widebody Airbuses, start from the top down e.g. A380.

Its the 200 that the airlines don't want since its under powered among other issues, the 700 is pretty popular.

Well airlines don't want the DC-6, but PMDG is still doing it!!!

But the DC-6 is shoved to the very back burner for now to speed up the far more popular 777 and 747 V2.

I would be interested in a CRJ if the package included it's distant cousin, the Global Express.

Still I don't think there isn't a reason why you can't use your 737-600 on your RJ routes, just travel back in time to the 70s-80s :)  I remember hopping on a United 727 from Arcata to San Francisco back in the early 80s.  Arcata is now served by your usual batch turboprops.  In those days, DC-9s, 727s, 737s, etc were the RJs.

I would love to see PMDG go for something really exotic like an AN-124 or Beechcraft Starship.  I know the Cubs would win a world series before those projects ever happen.  Its too bad the 'obscure' projects like the J41 and MD-11 didn't sell well, they are very fun to fly.  I am really looking forward to the DC-6.  The sound of four purring R2800s in cruise is music to my ears :)

Cheers
