Fastest RAM for P8P67 Deluxe with Overclocked 2700K?

Featured Replies

In an attempt to retake Sandy Bridge FSX Mark 11 record, what is the fastest RAM that will yield maximum FPS? MB is Asus P67 Deluxe B3.

Kind regards,

Spec. for your board / memory are below, hit and miss with higher MHz.

DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 (Due to CPU behavior, DDR3 2200/2000/1800 MHz memory module will run at DDR3 2133/1866/1600 MHz frequency as default.)

Hi

My was close to 2200 at 8 10 9 24 1t with tigher sub timings.

Good luck/ i try to replicate if you take it back.

Hasse,

What name and number of RAM did you use? Do you have a link to where it can be bought?

Stephen old friend, you know that if you "wanna" play you have to pay so if you want to break records you know you have to go for the best....is money a problem?

Here is IMHO, as of today, the best rams you can buy to break the FSX Mark 11 record, they are compatible with your board...

Here is the second best......

Get a state of the art cooling system (water) for your CPU and overclock the heck out of it and let see how far you can push these stick with your mobo...

Now if you'r thinking about blowing everything out of the water FSX Mark 11 wise get the Ivy Bridge with some Corsair 3000MHz rams....

Dont agree

G-skill ,Kingston,Corsair; Team youse the samsung chip , the key is to find a good pair then the brand dosent matter.

the second best is mems that not make the 2666 ratings , all makers other have faster ones.

And if its SB you have the 21.33 divider and you cant push them so much higher (mem controller)

For examle Corsair Venegage 1866 have diff chip with no headroom for overclocking the worst mems ever crap!!!

But for IB its the way to go then if its Corsair,G-Skill whatever dosent matter

If you look at benches its kingston 3095mhz @cl6 ?? higest speed on IB 3280mhz @cl11 and overall AMD 3800mhz on mems.

Kind Regards Hasse

I have the Corsair Dominator 8GB DDR3 2133 CL9 (9-11-10-27), I got around 2 FPS more compared to my older 1600 CL9. It seems clockspeed does more to FPS than the CAS latency timings.

Guys all your arguments are good, Stephen want to break records and ask for the fastest ram, so, how far can you push the corsair, what I mean buy that is how low (cas) can you get them down to at high speed, let take the corsair 2400MHz for example, can you make them work at 2133 (or a little higher) at CAS 7-8-8- 25 1T or 7-7-7-21 1T or lower CAS?

Mine are 2000MHz (triple chanels) rated at 7-7-7-21 and I can run them at 2016MHz at 7-6-6-20 1T

Granted that with the SB or IV the CAS is not as important (MHz is more) as before for game don't forget that we are dealing with FSX here....

Come on Stephen, spend the money and let us know..buy them on a credit card break the Mark 11 record and return them after that.... :diablo:

Let him do it, feed with +1.9V and high VTT IMC voltage with risk to fry CPU ,PUSH it to the Limits

Go for it Stephen ^_^

Now we are talking.....we are all behing you Stephen, you'r a :aggressive: old friend, I admire your tenacity....don't let us down :Chicken: ...we are all glued to the screen... :dirol:

Thanks Guys,

I want to, I really do, however, I am not too confident that I can match Hasse, especially after his last run. If I had a 680 GTX, I might try it since the new CPU has run FSX at 5.4 Ghz, however briefly, but I just don't think the 580 GTX has the lungs. With my previous CPU, a 2,600K at 5.0Ghz, and 1600 Mhz Ram at 6-8-6-24 2T this system managed 47.3 FPS, so I imagine with ultra fast ram, and the new 2700K kicking out between 5.3 and 5.4 GHZ, I should be able to get into the low 50's easy enough, but there is no way it will do over 5.4 without a GPU change.

So that means I will wait for the next hardware round before upgrading from what I have now. As it is, I can run FSX with the CPU at 5.0 Ghz and the 580 GTX at 900 Mhz all day long at maxed out FPS and enjoy motion picture quality flying with the most demanding software, so I have decided that perfection is good enough, for now. Let's see what goodies are around the corner with the next advancements. I don't mind being an early adopter, but it doesn't make sense to me to be a late one, for no particular good reason, other than being able to briefly top the charts again, or burn out my rig trying.

Just you wait though...

Kind regards,
