GPUMark, an FSX GPU benchmark

Recommended Posts

Hi

here is a a Screen

http://dl.dropbox.co...en gpu test.png

You got PM

the only way to get upp the gpu usage was turn down water and run 5040x1050

have 93%.

What happens to GPU usage if you set water to Low 2.x at 1920x1080?

also please try with WideViewAspect=False

EDIT: Let's add another requirement to make sure this is GPU limited. Try Scenery & Traffic, Global settings to "Minimal"

Anyway, if you're getting that frame rate, it's not going to go any lower by reducing settings, so either the AA modes are not working, or those GTX680 are so much faster than Fermi

Did a run as your settings

in cfg:WW=False, cloud 12 , max texture 4096.

run in windowed monitor usage and gpu

With Rex

http://dl.dropbox.co...gpu3 screen.png

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg 9530, 300000, 29, 38, 31.767

Thanks Hasse

It looks like your card is simply a lot faster

This is my score with Scenery & Traffic down to minimal

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg

6652, 300000, 20, 28, 22.173

Can you maybe do another run with the GPU on stock clocks please?

1189MHz is stock for that card? wow

Well, the idea is to run the test at two different GPU speeds if you can.

You've already been most helpful, thanks again man

I've been wanting to do this for a long time.

This is a benchmark flight, very much like FSMark11 & FSMark07 but focused on the GPU. The idea is to figure out which GPU models & architectures run better at high IQ levels in FSX.

It doesn't require a clean FSX install or anything like that, the only requirements are:

- Max out your Cloud Coverage Density (8 or more)

How much is your CLOUD_DRAW_DISTANCE? Does it matter?

Thanks,

Dirk.

Should be maxed out as well. good point

So it's time to recap here, and define a set of FSX and Inspector settings for the test:

FSX settings:

Graphics: make sure resolution is set to 1920x1080x32 if available. Filtering to Trilinear and Anti-aliasing unchecked. IMPORTANT: Preview DirectX 10 must be unchecked

Aircraft: use Medium High global settings

Scenery: use Minimal global settings

Weather: make sure the Cloud coverage density and Clod draw distance sliders are all the way to the right

Traffic: use Minimal global settings

settingsFSXgpumark.png

Nvidia Inspector settings:

you can download the profile here

settingsNIgpumark.png

FSX.CFG settings:

Make sure WideViewAspect is set to false

[Display]

WideViewAspect=False

If you are a REX user, please post what resolution clouds you're using

...and once again, the flight files:

Download GPUMark

The 3770K gone retaire until i am ready with the 24/7 SS.

Westman, would you mind to elaborate that "until i am ready with the 24/7 SS"?

Did you mean to say the overclocked 3770K was not stable enough to use 24/7, as compared to 27000K?

Thanks,

Dirk.

The 3770 is ok 24/7 with H100 its stable at @4.8 and @4.9 but the temps is a liitle

to high for me @4.9

The 2700K is 24/7 stable @5.3 with nice temps and performes liitle better than the

3770 on that Clock.

But a not swapped them yet think to give the 3770 one week more to have time to play with

the rams i manged to get them to 2880mhz cl11 today.

I hope without removing that lid (cover) on the chip?

Thanks,
