Strange Input Device

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I just found a picture on this board and was wondering if the red marked thing is something like an input device.

How does it work? Can it be simulated?

Thx to all people who are trying to make me smarter by answering this question! ;)

Its a track pad like on a laptop. We won't need it because we have a mouse.

Yeah I believe Ryan said for the checklists if we hover over the screen it will become clickable. Just like the PSS 777, which the guy that developed their checklist now works at PMDG! I prefer it over than the ridiculous over dev.

Yeah guys, trying to use a mouse to control a little trackpad thing wouldn't work very well... you'll just be able to mouse onto the EICAS and select/click things.

Exactly! In this video, about 2:28 you can see it in action

That lower display on the 787 seems to me like it should be touch pad (assuming adequate anti-wear), especially if you have to interface with the FMS through a virtual CDU like that.
