26JUL12 - PMDG 777 for FSX: Let the previews begin!

Featured Replies

The BBJ has a system called "EVS" that is basically a FLIR through the HGS. Vin says this is actually possible and I imagine it might show up as an option if we do the BBJs. The only 777s with HGS at the moment are 777Fs though and I do not believe any have this system.

Here's a some United ones in the 2-3 hour range:

UAL815 KORD-KDEN

UAL440 KDEN-KIAD

This might be the current shortest 777 route in the world at only 25 minutes!

These are longer than 2hrs but not completely ridiculous for a simmer to do:

UAL771 KIAD-KSFO

UAL724 PHNL-KSFO

These seem amazing to me. I would have (apparently erroneously) guessed the efficiency advantage for this huge of a bird would be found in longer cruises.

It is, obviously, considering the empty weight of the 777-200 is three times that of the 737-900. On a 3 hour flight, with 100 passengers, you'd probably use up the entire planned fuel for the 737-900 on just the takeoff and climb in the 777-200.

Sounds like a fully functioning lavatory. Haven't seen one of those in FSX.

If this is the case. I demand that PMDG add a skidmark on the bowl. Similar to how the engine blade colours are inaccurate the loo will be inaccurate without a pooey skidmark or an actual deuce in it.It must be black too and not grey. He%20He.gif

fully functioning lavatory . that wasn't simulated yet.

Yesterday I was almost the whole day thinking what that could be?

And theres another question if these things are simulated in the systems or on the airplane itself?

a "huge technology advance for simmers who wish to fly the 777" that hasn't been simulated in FSX...

1. The first word of the sentence is "huge" so it shouldn't be something extremely minor.

2. it needs a video to be presented, so its not something terribly obvious on the model or in the VC

3. taking Rob's words a bit too literally, but it seems its for flying the 777, not servicing, maintaining, etc..what 777-specific ops are there?

4. I'm no 777 expert but what 777-specific systems are there?

The suspension is killing me!

Looks great!

Just watched a 777 video of Air Canada CYYZ to RJAA. When to FO was going over the systems, they had in the center display checklists and other things that seemed controlled by a cursor from the yoke. Does any FSX aircraft have this feature and could this be the cool super duper technological advance that has been teased?
