Yes. We need an update on the progress of the next update.

Ryan did say Rob was travelling so that could be why!

Yes it is amazing to see what developers are managing to do with the ageing fsx. Just look at what we have now in the ngx compared to fsx products years ago, it's isn't even like we see this advancement because we had a new fsx or even software patches. It's the same old sim, with it's flaws, bad code and issues, that the developers are managing to bring us these new products that almost make it like having a new sim. It's these great addons that keep bringing people into fsx or keeping the rest of us here, as when people see what the sim can be they are genuinely impressed.

But it's here where it becomes depressing, just imagine what we would have now, had ms decided to release a sp3 or developed a proper fs11. My fsx generally runs great, yes it suffers eventually Oom errors, but I push my sim to the max, it's running on 3 22 inch monitors at max res, with advanced scenery etc. it's just a simple fact that because of the coding of fsx, another 16gigs of ram, another super duper graphics card, isn't going to improve that situation. I just have to know how to care for my sim to keep it running well, with minimum disruption.

But I sit and read forums, and hear often, sorry it's a limitation with fsx, we'd like to be able to do that but fsx engine doesn't allow it, or even though you have a cray 2 running fsx we can't had another load of stuff because of way fsx coded it won't use your processing power. as much as developers find many ways, they can't fix everything, the sim itself needs to be fixed. Imagine if these coding issues were fixed, imagine if the engine was designed to take advantage of the graphics cards, use dx11, that shoving more memory in would allow for even more scenery effects, animations, lighting effects. Imagine fixes to the weather engines.

Yes we could have even more, but almost easy to keep fsx as it is in principle with just some core changes, and we'd have a totally amazing sim, that would sell itself easy. Why ms can't see this I don't know, over 20 years of a franchise, that'sproducts are in the top 10 everytime it's been updated, and that now is a sim that people are still using, years after release. Look at it this way in the time fsx been available ms have released 3 operating systems, many not used anymore, I doubt there a single other game on someone's system they still play 7 years later, other than solitare! I own a wii I don't use anymore, I've changed my car 3 times since fsx released. Why oh why can't ms see the value in a new sim, and see that of all the products they released its actually in some ways their most popular.

On another note can PMDG get a move on with the 777 please because I want the 747 to play with before I go fly a the real 747 sim later this year!

I will see how things develop with the PWDG 777 and if necessary, acquire a standalone PC.

You mean 'PMDG 777', right?

Shouldn't this be in 777 section? :?

I'm with you... faster stuff will help to an extend but I already get OOM's at custom high settings with the NGX hehe... there's only so much 2005/6 software can take.

I agree but probably because more will see it here. There's not too many around the 777 forum at the moment. I was surprised the notification from Rob on the manuals was here and not in the 777 forum!

Guys-

This is cpmpletley pointless nonsense. Its a pmdg forum...its pretty simple.

Furthermore, there are a folks in here who like to actually read thru the forums, and get tired of the banter and speculation.

Theres no reason to second guess every little move pmdg makes in hopes of getting something.

The new QW BAE 146 offering may push the 777 release date back a little. After all, they have to be sure to really top that offering graphically! The competition is improving. I hope they do a better job on the 777 exterior than they did on the 737NGX exterior. But PMDG is still the best IMO!

I struggle to understand what PMDG could do to improve the exterior of the 737NGX.
