Lancair Legacy cockpit sound issue

Featured Replies

I'm loving this RealAir triumph but do have an issue with a cockpit sound inflight. What I believe is either a sound related to drag over the deployed flaps or landing gear keeps replaying in a loop even though all gear and flaps are up and stowed. It's annoying...the plane is growling at me!

I seem to recall Rob mentioning this bug in an earlier post, and I did tru reloading the plane using the CTL; key combination, but the problem persists. Any guidance is gratefully appreciated, thanks.

Are you running some analogue axis for the spoilers or flaps or something? When you press the spoiler key (FSX command) or the ones for flaps full up/down, does it help?

I think I have the same sound issue though until now for some reason I thought it must be how the real legacy sounds.

CoolP, I have those stock FSX commands for spoilers and flaps mapped to my CH controllers, so, short answer - doesn't help. Thanks, though, and I'll keep trying to hunt down its source...and the fuel pump is off during cruise (it's LOUD) but I still get this looping whoosh or muted crash sound. It's not accu-feel because I turned that completely off for the Lancair in order to test that.

You might have something there regarding the spoilers...I realize that I've got an axis mapped to spoilers on the CH stick and in the FSX axis settings. I'll try the keystroke "/" and see if that doesn't kill this sound bug. Thanks!

Click the speed brake switch on and then back off and it will fix it id you have a key bind for it.

Slightly related: when I get in the plane cold and dark I hear a constant sound: it almost sounds like the engine running idle but that would be impossible since everything is cold and dark. After a while I figured out it must be the wind... I also hear something ticking as if the wind is blowing something against the exterior of the plane. Anyway, I wonder if you also hear that sound: imho it's a bit too loud and too repetitive and also a bit odd because the wind isn't always blowing the exact same. I was wondering if there is a way to disable that sound!

Can you find that sound browsing through SimObjects\Airplanes\RealAir Legacy\panel\Sound? The filename will tell the origin and it allows for editing with a freeware sound editor if you like.

Did you forget to unplug the static ports and have a "Remove Before Flight" flag tapping against the side of the plane? <_<

I get the ticking, Jeroen..I get it with the MilViz B55, too..But extra weird: it doesn't do it all the time. before SP1 of the B55 it did it as soon as the engine was started, but also on pause, so I think it's a triggered sound...
