August 5, 201213 yr Hi i have another computer am building right now , the computer itself has 8gb DDR3. But the thing is i don't know the actual speed of the ram memory stick. So on my MSI 760GM-E51 motherboard i have 2 extra slots of ram memory. So i would like to make this computer 16GB total. But here is the thing i don't know if all memory stick have to be the same speed or if its okay that there different. The one i really want to purchase now is 8gb (2x 4GB) 1600. But i do not know the speed of the current Memory installed. Can some one help me please? August 5, 201213 yr I raised this issue a few years ago on the Corsair forum and was strongly advised against mixing sticks of different speeds. Ty to check specs on the sticks you own and buy the same if they are still on the market. August 5, 201213 yr Author Thanks you guys . Doesn't it have an APP that can tell you the speed or the ram memory spec's ? August 5, 201213 yr Why not just use CPU-z to obtain the memory timings and frequency? At any rate, a proper built PC will have a matched memory kit. 16gb can be obtained for $150-200. Any reason in particular you need more than 8gb? Also, mixing memory will simply make the RAM run at the slowest stick's speed. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

Any reason in particular you need more than 8gb? Thanks for the reply . But this 32Gb Ram memory computer that i have list in my spec's well see i used this most for music i have home studio setup so i ask my friend guitargamery who also runs fsx on his studio computer if its okay to run fsx with a custom build studio computer. He said sure its fine an that it doesn't affect with his music . But to me it gets all mix up , for example some time i would be looking for a track or a vocal vst plugin an i end up in my fsx folder finding it . All kind of things all over the place i guest you can call me junky since i have everything all over the place. I just don't have the time to organize everything. So right now am setting up a computer just for fsx. So the computer itself has 8gb ram memory all ready the max it can take up is 16Gb . So i saw the 2 extra ram memory that i need to make it 16gb for a very nice price at http://magicmicro.com/pmoreinfo.asp?iid=3570 Any suggestion will be glad to take any advice. Here is the link if that one doesn't work http://magicmicro.com/pmoreinfo.asp?iid=3570 Mr Leny CPU I7 8700K @ 5.0GHz , MOBO -Asus Maximus X Hero (WiFi AC),GPU - GTX1080 TI , RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 16GB DDR4 3600MHz SSD -Crucial MX500 1TB (P3D Install Only)OS- Samsung 960 EVO 500GB (Window 10 Pro 64)
August 5, 201213 yr I suggest not adding memory. Filling more DIMMs can only hurt stability, and you'll see no benefit in doing so for an FSX rig. Focus on a stable overlock with what you have. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

All i know i think it has AMD QuadCore CPU an i think maybe it can go above 3.8 when overclock . I really don't know . By the way do you know if adding extra power is helpful , like for example getting a P-S of 750Wats or 1200 WATS? Does this help the overclocking?. Am also concern in getting a one of those H20 Cooling Fan . Any suggestion you may give me i will very much appreciate it thank you . A quality 600W PSU like the one in my system specs provides clean, uninterrupted power. In other words, quality goes a long way. With that processor and any modern single GPU with plenty of case fans and peripherals, 600W is more than plenty. What PSU brand/model/wattage do you have for the new rig as of now? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

The PSU is Cooler Master 500W Extra Quiet ATX Powersupply. I had the option to get 650W but i always stop an think why is the 650 W cheaper than the 500W . So i said let me go with the expensive one even dow its 500W but i think it has nice quality or something. Also i see that everyone uses I7 included myself so i was a little short on money so i said to myself let me try one of those AMD Quad Core processor. Someone said that if i overclock it its good for fsx . It said here on the processor box it comes with 3.2 Ghz but it can be overclock up to 4.2 Ghz. I just need to have a good fan . What do you suggest ?
