07AUG12: PMDG 777 Manuals Available! (Start studying!)

Featured Replies

Im sorry to say that I can neither afford to build a new PC to run FSX smoothly so I can run the PMDG 777-200-300 nor can I afford likely $100 price point for the sim as well as the $100+ for manuals.

Is this the new norm for simming to charge for the manuals?

Flightsimming is going the way of GA, getting to expensive to do. I guess I will fly my old birds until then.

What is next??????.... charging for patches or monthly dues for FMC data or else the sim dont run? or Pay Per Use.

"R", do people have to keep saying over and over again that the airplane will come with manuals on PDF? C'mon.

1. This is silly. All PMDG products have PDF manuals. Look at the name of the company: Precision Manuals.... I don't know if there is official word, but it will come.

2. Anyone else who wants to stop whinging and get on with learning from PDFs: Look them up on the Web. The 737ng cockpit site has some 777 manuals, for example.

3. For myself, I printed approx 1000 pages total from the 737 PDF manuals that PMDG provided. I also ordered the cockpit posters. I'll probably do the same for the 777 when it comes out.

Now back to the regular program: 30% whinging, 70% expressions of delight.

Hang on thought only the manuals would be released for free and the aircraft you had to pay for

Yea I am not sure why people think that the products do not come with manuals???? It would be pointless without them really...

And even then it sometimes doesnt matter. Guranteed, once the 777 is out, a very frustrated person will write in this forum, asking how to do something very simple, like "I can't figure out how to turn the APU on and then start the engines". When the response is "did you read the manuals, checklists and/or tutorial?", the 1st poster will, naturally, say no.

The 777 will be one of the most simplest aircraft PMDG have developed (VC wise). People will be turning the Packs off on engine start, not needed! All Automatic ha. However under all those Automatic switches is a very complex system, which any 777 lover should definitely explore. I know I will be after I'm done with ground school for my PPL in October :-)

Do customs charges apply on the Chief Pilot set in Canada?

There is an art . . . to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss

Got mine today, looks nice.

When I got the 737 Chief pilot set, I payed about 24 bucks to Fed-Ex when they billed me about a month after I received them. I assume about the same amount will be due with the 777 set.
