Difference between ASE and AS2012 Weather Engine.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Is there a difference between the weather engine of ASE and AS2012? Because I want to buy a good weather engine, but the textures are not needed, so I want only a weather engine. And ASE is cheaper.

Yes there is but it all depends on just how accurate you want to be. The ASE engine is fantastic but the AS2012 engine has subtle improvements that make the depiction even more accurate than before. Frankly, I'd still buy AS2012 - first of all, the textures are exceptional. IMHO they are much more realistic than the competition and better on the frame rates. And since textures are purely subjective, a lot of people mix and match. meaning they use AS2012 textures for certain situations, and the competition for others, etc. As2012 provides you with a great deal of customization AND the best weather engine available.
