August 12, 201213 yr Hello! Please could you help me? After take off with the Boeing 737 900 NGX, I activated the Flight director and the speed control, all was working perfect Then (of course) I wanted to activate the Auto Pilot and I pushed one of the four Auto Pilot buttons, BUT NO reaction of the system! Only a little part of a second, the button flashed with a blue light, but this was all According this, I was not able to cruise with AP and was not able to climb up automaticly to the selected flight high etc What is the reason for this failure of the Auto Pilot ? Thank you so much for your answer in advance Best greetings Arno Vienna Austria
August 12, 201213 yr Do you have service based failures on? How did you disconnect the autopilot on the previous flight? If you yanked the yoke violently, you could have broken the autopilot shear pins. Check the cdu maintenance page and see what it says. August 12, 201213 yr Hi Arno! You also want to check that in the options page of the FMS if "realistic AP engagement" is selected on or off. If it is on the aircraft has to be correctly trimmed and stable before the AP can be engaged by pressing CMD A or B. Hope it helps! Matteo Capocefalo MED1473 Matteo Capocefalo MED1473
August 12, 201213 yr As Matteo mentioned if the aircraft is not correctly trimmed and settled nicely on the flight director it will not engage. Make sure you are not pulling, pushing etc on the stick before engaging and you should be ok. Pretty sure this is explained in the tutorials though. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2
August 12, 201213 yr Keep the control colunm and wheel in the center position before engaging the autopilot. Also make sure the Main and A/P Stab Trim cut out switch's on the control stand is in the normal position. Mark Scheerman Boeing 737-6/7/8/900 Ground Engineer
August 12, 201213 yr You cant be pulling on the yoke an engage it at the same time. I had this problem as well. Just level out and let go and it will work Max PMDG 747X & 737NGX Pilot
