  • There you go. Download this patch Manually replace 3 files in \Multi Crew X-Plane\ installation folder. From now on, once you mute all MCE reco with ScrollLock (or optionally with Numlo

  • For PMDG 737 MSFS integration, it is currently in Beta. Should have received invitation to download the Beta. Assuming you've done that, download this patch http://www.multicrewxp.com/B

  • Try using the word "all".   Two relevant examples that work for me (1st for the NGX, 2nd for the simcheck A300):   "All fuel pumps on."   "Deactivate all packs."

Any USB wired (NOT Bluetooth) headset for PC worth above US$ 20 should do.

Avoid expensive wireless ones, because they have their own issues, like keeping a tab on the battery (which will eventually wear out after many charging/discharging cycles), never mind interference from other wireless devices.

  • 2 weeks later...

A few things are not working on the Q400 powerup with APU flow:

  • Start APU
  • APU Gen On
  • Disconnecting th GPU (mentioned in another post)
  • Check FDR (no test performed)
  • Chceck Fire Detection - no test performed
  • Check Smoke Detection - no test performed

I did a cold & dark reset (using MCE command) and re-strted the PU APU flow, same result.

As a general question: what is the course of actions to take when commands are not performed?

Thanks!

Hello Mario.

Speaking personally, I find MCE does call the ground tech (mechanic) and disconnects the GPU. I say "disconnect GPU", "Remove ground power unit", "Remove GPU". How I see it working is, from the flight deck position, issue the verbal command (or put it in your flow/Vox Script). MCE will then open the MCDU as a pop up. MCE will then open the "services" tab in the MCDU and de select GPU.

You need to be in the flight deck position and not doing anything with the mouse.

As for the other points you mention. I believe Gerald has said elsewhere that the flat push button switches are troublesome and a work in progress.

If you want to, you can do a few simple mouse macros, using a program called Voice Attack! I messed with these and got some success. But the 3d window doesn't always behave and stay in the same exact place!

The APU requires a pause sequence, since the APU requires to be up to speed before selecting its generator. That's all we use the APU for in the Dash 8. It starts electrically, there is no air involved. Most use the GPU, start #2, then disconnect GPU and start #1. You can even start on the Dash 8 batteries, but seldom used due to the strain on the cells. But what the heck! Its a sim and we don't pay for new batteries!

Best Regards

David.

Currently, under P3D V3, FO cannot handle "flat" type buttons. Those that are interfaced using simulated clicks in VC. Fire detection also uses simulated clicks

Fully working with FSX though.

We need to work out what LM changed regarding that aspect. And it's not something you just get from the SDK.

Comments noted. I though something was amiss with the flat buttons. I am thinking modifying the flows to match the detailed tutorial by Brendan Ratchford. This will be a good opportunity to practice with VoxScript. For now, I may modify the flows so me, the PIC, will have to manipulate the flat buttons.

Quesrions:

  • Where is the Q400 flows file located? I may use as a template.
  • Does the Aerosoft Airbus flat buttons also give issues to MCE?

BTW this is a fun piece of software. Lots to learn and play with.

Thanks!

C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Multi Crew Experience\MyVoiceScripts\Copilot\Aircraft\mjc8q400

also in,C:\Program Files (x86)\Multi Crew Experience\Support\Files\VoiceScripts\Copilot\Aircraft

No Sir, its 100% perfect on my system. Even the PFC code displays are enunciated. "Lock Blue" etc....

BTW this is a fun piece of software. Lots to learn and play with.

That's why its the best! Works with all FSX/P3d native aircraft. Even the ones on X Plane?

People who want to learn will use MCE. People who have learned will use MCE to keep their hand in. People who have retired will use MCE because they can use all their old flows/checklists in their flying.

Happy sim flying!

Q400 is the only aircraft that MCE has issues interfacing "Flat" buttons with, and only under P3D V3

As a beginner, it's best to edit flows via the MCE user interface.

Go to <Command> tab in user interface and click <Voxscript> button.

The list of various flows will appear. The flows names are actually the trigger sentences. You can rename them if you're used to different trigger sentences.

Then, to edit a flow, select it and click "Edit".

By default all flows are set to "Verbose", so you can see what FO is doing.

To make a flow silent, simply un-tick the "Verbose" option.

Next, click <Edit flows commands> and you'll be taken to the "Script Commands" window.

You'll see the list of tasks FO is expected to perform right now.

Feel free to remove any action you'd like to perform yourself.

No need to insert pauses lower than 3 seconds.

Optionally use the "Notify" command to remind yourself whatever needs to be done.

The system is designed so that any real world pilot can have both flows and checklist as per his airline SOPs.

The ultimate goal is to provide a platform for recurrent training (within the limits imposed by aircraft implementation).

Good afternoon,

I usually operate the autopilot myself in the PMDG747, but I've discovered the FO will switch it on (I say "Engage Autopilot) but won't switch it off.

I say "Dis-engage Autopilot" or "Autopilot Off", FO responds with just "Autopilot" and does nothing.

This is with FSX Acceleration in Win7/64.

Thank you.

@thight git

By design, and to prevent accidental speech reco wreaking havoc with a flight, a request for a critical action will always require confirmation.

Pretty sure you're aware of that when it comes to switching IRS, shutting down engine and such..

Auto-pilot and ATS, when commanded OFF, will always require confirmation when airborne. Just in case you go for a loo break and come back to find airplane is on a dive, because the dog barked

Just say any of these and he should carry out the action

Yes

yeah

Affirmative

affirm

go ahead

do it

absolutely

without a doubt

....

....many other variations

Thanks for your very quick reply.

This was actually on the ground, having just completed an auto-land, but I'll try confirming next flight, both airborne and landed.

Go to tab in user interface and click button.

The list of various flows will appear. The flows names are actually the trigger sentences. You can rename them if you're used to different trigger sentences.

Also, sometimes, in the past, when I've done that there may be no flows present in the window. So if you click on "import" you can then import any flow from the selection of aircraft you have installed. Usually in the two locations I mentioned.

C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Multi Crew Experience\MyVoiceScripts\Copilot\Aircraft\mjc8q400

also in,C:\Program Files (x86)\Multi Crew Experience\Support\Files\VoiceScripts\Copilot\Aircraft

This is a way of moving flows from aircraft to aircraft. Then just edit them until your a happy Captain!.:-)

Cheers.

David

I've now conducted some tests with the PMDG747 auto-pilot (see Post 356).

(1) On take off, FO selects auto-pilot when asked (it's actually the Left AP each time).

(2) In the cruise, I asked him to "dis-connect auto-pilot" (I've also tried "auto-pilot off")

but he just says "Auto-pilot" each time, even when I say "Yes", "Affirm" or "Confirm".

(3) After an auto-land (obviously with all three AP's engaged) he will switch off

the Centre and Right AP's when asked but not the Left AP.  Again, he just keeps

repeating "Auto-pilot" but does nothing, even when I confirm.

Any thoughts, please?

My apologies, but in (3) above, I've realised that AP Centre and Right disconnect automatically after landing, so FO switching them off when asked was purely coincidental.

To summarise, FO will switch on AP when asked but refuses to switch it off, even when confirmed.

OK, changed a couple of things with regards AP disengaging following a CAT III scenario, which wasn't accounted for before.

Suggest you install the very latest uploaded yesterday, and we'll take it from there after more feedback from you
