August 23, 201213 yr turbine engines are harder to model than piston. They have a good write up of this very problem in their PDF for the plane (as part of the install package). OT: For the life of me, I don't know why Beech doesn't build a modern version of the Duke (with turbines). It's such a hot rod in 70's skin. One can imagine what modern design and fabrication could produce.
August 23, 201213 yr I am crazy about the Real Air Dukes! Fabulous aircraft that are a blast to fly. I own several of the Real Air machines and they do not dissapoint.
August 23, 201213 yr I love the Real Air piston Duke. It's one of a handful of aircraft I fly regularly. It's the perfect plane for so many flights and it's great to fly. It looks good inside and out. I didn't get the turbine Duke but that doesn't take away from the pleasure I've had with Real Air's talent. John
August 23, 201213 yr Author I see that RA actually sells two Dukes. Turbine and Piston. Do you have both? Is it only the turbine version that is so good? I got the two that they're selling as a package. Turbine beautiful, yet to try piston. Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ Catch us over at MassieSim32 -> https://discord.gg/B4buuHGhcr
August 23, 201213 yr The piston duke is a nice plane. Think of it as a Turbine Duke on Prozac. Same plane but more chilled and relaxed. I have both and while I do fly the Turbine Duke a lot, I do fly the Piston now and then. August 23, 201213 yr One thing that comes to my mind is the turbine engines are harder to model than piston. Hinting at better realism for the piston version. RealAir have done a notable job of working around limits and making good compromises on this. As I mentioned earlier, I bought the pair for the piston, as I'm fundamentally a piston GA flyer, but have ended up flying the Turbine more as it kinda hooked me as it has so many others. The PT-6's are modeled very well. Not perfectly, but very well. Scott
August 24, 201213 yr I have both and while I do fly the Turbine Duke a lot, I do fly the Piston now and then. same... what's funny is having been in the T-Duke for an extended amount of time, then going back to piston... it's rather shocking that: A.) All the noise the poor engines make with no immediate acceleration. B.) No hunting for the right TRQ number @ take off / cruise / landing. (VERY light touch on the throttles, or forget it!) C.) No waiting after eating.

August 24, 201213 yr Author Indeed. I can't get enough of the T-Duke. Just a quick one. When you guys installed the aircraft was their an option for a lite version of the VC? For some reason I am sure I saw it when I looked over the variants. I don't need a lite version however I have compared my VC to some I've seen on you tube and it doesn't seem to be hi-res. I have everything set to maximum both in FSX and the duke config. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ Catch us over at MassieSim32 -> https://discord.gg/B4buuHGhcr
August 24, 201213 yr AFAIK, there are no "lite" versions. take off like a scalded cat with a hot poker up it's butt. LOLOLOL, U got that right!! I often wonder if the real thing can take off vertically.

August 24, 201213 yr Author Thanks to those who recommended the legacy. Got a copy today and it rocks. My hangar is complete. I haven't had a good read of the docs that came with it yet so just quickly does anyone know the range and ceiling? I know I should read the docs but just though someone might throw me a quick answer. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ Catch us over at MassieSim32 -> https://discord.gg/B4buuHGhcr
August 25, 201213 yr 16,000 ft ceiling. range about 800 to 1100 km. best crz is 8000 Ft, 2400 RPM, wide open throttle (that'll put you around 22 mp) @ 241 Kmh, 12-14 GPH... depending on winds of course.
August 25, 201213 yr Author Thanks hawk. Appreciate it mate. Happy flying...... Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ Catch us over at MassieSim32 -> https://discord.gg/B4buuHGhcr
August 25, 201213 yr Just got the Dukes... Does anyone else get a ticking noise kinda like an LP scratch on the left channel at high power settings on the piston model, every 4 or 5 seconds?
